First, contact person never gave me check in info 24 hrs in advance. I had to reach out to get info and was told it would be ready by 4pm. Was told a fridge repair was being done that day. Father’s, Sunday, June 15. Was told I would be contacted with updates. I had to follow up and was then told 6pm check in. Drive up to home at 6 pm. Couldn’t believe my eyes. Broken garage door windows bordered up, 3 ft high grass in front, pile of bricks and downed tree in front yard. Siding missing on house. Filthy windows. Went to front door, was slightly ajar. One cleaner inside who did not speak English. Spoke Spanish and said 2 mores hours to finish. My daughter, who accompanied me, we went in. Water everywhere. White dust everywhere. Mops and rags on floors but didn’t appear to be making any attempt to clean up all the water. Furniture was missing. Bedding on the floor and not clean. Broken furniture in bedrooms. Back deck was dangerous, as there were several rotted out holes. No furniture on deck as shown in listing. Doors were a mess and some doors to exterior were not able to lock. Contacted “James” the listing person. He told me it would be clean by 8 pm. I’m sorry but being cleaned was half the battle. I was furious and demanded a full refund. He offered another home. I refused. He then refused to issue any refund. For one week I continued to contact VRBO and demanded a refund. VRBO was not helpful in this process. Further they offered no help to relocate me.
