BEWARE: I really wanted to love this space - we had booked it for a small overnight Christmas trip for our 6 yr old son. We checked in at 4pm and immediately went to dinner. We arrived back at 8:45pm just in time for a very loud concert to start across the street from 9-10pm. We were frustrated but understand these things happen -- the host even left earplugs but a "heads up" would have been nice. Our son was exhausted. At 11:30pm the HVAC started making a very, very loud noise (even when turned off) and I scrambled to contact the host. She had no number listed. I had to contact VRBO and wait for an operator to connect us. When I finally reached her, we tried everything but the noise wouldn't stop so I let our host know we would have to move. She offered to call after-hours maintenance but this place is very small (maybe 400 SF) and it was already past midnight. Where was I supposed to put our son to rest? He was screaming and scared b/c it was so loud. How long would it take to diagnose the problem? Would they even have the parts? Given all this - we had to leave. It was 1am. We had to drag our belongings down the street to a hotel & rebook there. Now, our host & VRBO are declining to refund our stay. I've booked many stays over the years and I've always been positively rated. I care for these places like my own & treat my hosts with respect. I would expect the same in return. So, if you have any issue, you are on your own - very disappointed with this host & VRBO.
