Cancelled on our stay 2 hours before we were arriving.
We didn’t go to the property. I had been trying to contact them for 2 days regarding information we needed upon arrival. VRBO had sent us an email earlier saying we should contact property management if we hadn’t received our info and code. Phone messages mailbox was full, communicating by email and messaging communication was not responded to.
Finally, he responded to tell me that “I am very sorry but there has been an error in the booking and this unit isn’t currently available. Unfortunately we will need to cancel the reservation, I am so sorry this was my error.”
I responded, “Do you have any other units available? We are 2 hours from check in and need a place to stay. What’s your solution? When he didn’t reply quickly, I then also wrote, “You need to call me immediately and take care of this. Give us a bigger condo or find us another VRBO.
At that Thomas responded, “I won’t be demanded by you what to do because I made a mistake. We do not have other available units.
Later he did try to apologize again and wrote, “If we had another unit I would’ve gladly offered it. I am sorry for having to cancel. I know it is an inconvenience for you.”
Thomas obviously has no management skills or people skills and doesn’t understand that we had a binding contract. This company needs to be looked at from VRBO because this wasn’t perceived as a reputable company.
I would like to hear from you and talk about how this entire ordeal was handled and how this can be rectified. Thanks.
