Cozy Chalet bordering Shenandoah Park near Massanutten Resort and Skyline Drive.

Spend your days hiking the Shenandoah National Park, canoeing the Shenandoah River or just driving the Skyline Drive. The views are breathtaking! The next day visit Massanutten Four Season Resort for the indoor water park, skiing, golf, fitness center, or the Family Adventure Park.

The Luray Caverns, touted the best caverns on the East Coast, are 35 minutes away. The Virginia Museum of the Civil War and the New Market Battlefield are 45 minutes away. Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Richmond and many more civil war battlefields are less than 2 hours away.

Elkton / Massanutten has some very nice restaurants including, Hanks, El Paso, and Romano's Italian Bistro for dining.

In the evenings, relax in the large jacuzzi tub, cooking dinner on the gas grill, and roasting marshmallows or making s'mores at the fire pit. For the more energetic, head back to Massanutten to play pick up basketball or racquetball.

We had a fabulous time on our trip!!! This chalet is absolutly stunning! It is very private and set back in the woods. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. It has everything you need to feel comfortable. It is decorated adorable. Very clean! The owner was very kind and helpful. This place is very close to the National Park and Ski place. Resturants and groceries are not far at all either! We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place! We hope to come back one day.

We had a great stay. The directions shared by the host ahead of time to find the house were flawless, which was very appreciated because we had no cell service. The house and property are beautiful and well-maintained, and everything was as described in the listing. Lovely spot; we will certainly look for an excuse to return!

Truly an AMAZING experience! A wonderful weekend away with family to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. Close to Shenandoah National Park (our favorite) and set back in a beautiful setting, this is a wonderful cabin! Lots of sleeping options, a well-equipped kitchen, a big deck with a swing to enjoy, fire pit to relax around…just truly wonderful! Dave, the owner, did an exceptional job communicating and making this place a haven to enjoy!

This place is an absolute gem (and the hosts are wonderful). Extremely clean and well-kept. The kitchen is well-equipped with a variety of cookware and bakeware (we even found a Belgian waffle maker), all in great condition. Beds are very comfortable (not too firm, not too soft) with soft linens. The owners really care for the property. Hosts were super responsive before and after. To put the photos in context: the room with the tv is on the lowest (entry) level. The kitchen, dining area, other living area, queen bedroom, and deck are on the middle level, and the four-bed loft is the upper level (which looks out through the top of the large wall of windows). We found that one person could watch TV without those on the middle level hearing much of it. It's light and airy throughout. The creek is on the other side of the gravel road that leads to the house. There's a DVD player and about two dozen family movies in the TV room (and a lot of options on the Roku) If coming in locally and planning to use the deck for lounging, might consider bringing deck chairs. The deck has a porch swing, a picnic table, and two wooden benches. There are pads for the chairs around the firepit (we might have tried using the pads on the deck had it not been so hot when we visited). All in all, a fantastic retreat in the woods for clearing one's head.

Perfect Private Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a very private wooded location. The host was very accommodating in making sure we had everything we needed. The chalet was very nice and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked to cook meals. The queen bed was very comfortable. The heating/air conditioning worked great. We didin’t use the deck, but it is very nice. It is a very relaxing atmosphere.

Great home well off the beaten path

Our family loved our weekend getaway in this home. It’s about 2 miles down a partially paved road, so you really feel like you’re away from everything, but you’re also close enough to attractions, restaurants, and shops for anything you want or need. The house is amazingly well-kept and well stocked. We hope to stay there again!

Loved having the "secluded cabin in the woods feel" while still being within 20 minutes of the town of Elkton and one of the national park entrances. Convenient location for the national park explorers. Harrisonburg was not far either if you needed a bigger grocery store or restaurant options. Very clean and cozy! The hosts made us feel welcome with a thank you card and bottle of wine waiting for us in the kitchen. Would definitely go back!
