5 BR - Lake Tuscaloosa - 9 acres w/ pool
Summary:
Situated a mere 15-minute drive away from the University of Alabama, this sprawling 10,000 square foot log cabin estate has 5-bedrooms and lies on over 1,000 feet along Lake Tuscaloosa. It is the largest lake house available for rentals in such close proximity to the University. Imagine awakening each morning on your private 9-acre estate, then taking a refreshing dip in your private swimming pool or lake inlet.
The Space:
Bonehinge is a historic and unique property located on a quiet section of Lake Tuscaloosa that took decades to build. There are three 1800’s log cabins that were relocated and built around a “great room” with ceilings over 70 feet in height, and the house includes stunning skylights for stargazing! The impressive, tall wood beams come from a cotton warehouse in Demopolis, Alabama owned by the builder’s grandmother and were recrafted into this home. All of the cabins and other materials used for the building of the home were gathered from Alabama and neighboring states. Masters of their craft hand-designed the stonework and stairways and many still care for the home today. Look for the hidden “H” in the stonework which the stonemason built in to the structure to sign his work. Each wood plank and beam has a story to tell! Even the stones in the driveway came from the ballast of an 18th century English ship found in Mobile Bay and many of bathroom fixtures and sinks come from a historic barber shop in Selma, Alabama. A great deal of love and fun was built into this home and the owners are excited to share it for the first time as a short-term rental.
Explore Lake Tuscaloosa from an entirely new perspective. Pontoon boat outings are available.
Attend the electrifying games at the University of Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium only 15-minutes away.
Spend quality time with friends and family on a property with so many activities you’ll hardly need to leave!
Perfect for families with children or groups of friends for reunions, staff retreats, graduations, parent’s weekend, Alabama football games or holidays.
