Michael and Nancy Sherard’s path to owning 501 Mar Vista Grande is a sweet story of love, nostalgia, and shared dreams. Living in Greenwood, South Carolina, this newlywed couple shares a deep connection to Myrtle Beach, where both spent childhood vacations with their families. After years of separate experiences, they decided it was time to create a special place together by the ocean. Their search for the perfect coastal retreat took them from St. Simons Island, Georgia, up to the coast of North Carolina. They ultimately discovered their dream spot in North Myrtle Beach, a peaceful alternative to the busier Myrtle Beach, famous for its Shag dancing culture. In January 2022, they purchased unit 501 at Mar Vista, making their dream of a home that was truly theirs come true. Michael, a part-time real estate broker, and Nancy, a retired school principal with a talent for decorating, poured their hearts into transforming the space. With Nancy’s stylish touch, the unit now features fresh, modern furnishings, new beds and mattresses, and top-notch tech like a 65” picture frame smart TV in the great room and smart TVs in every bedroom. One of their favorite features is the large deck, offering breathtaking ocean and city views—perfect for gatherings or simply enjoying a glass of wine at sunset. Outfitted with cozy seating, it’s an inviting space to relax and connect. From the modern fitness center on their floor to the thoughtful details throughout, their dedication to making 501 Mar Vista Grande a welcoming haven shines through. They hope others will enjoy it as much as they do and create lasting memories in the charm and calm of North Myrtle Beach.

Our condo at 501 Mar Vista Grande in North Myrtle Beach is just minutes from top golf courses, fantastic restaurants, and all kinds of shopping. If you love mini golf, there are plenty of Putt-Putt courses nearby. Costco and Sam’s Club are about a 20-minute drive away in Myrtle Beach. We’re also within walking distance of Main Street in the Ocean Drive area, home to great dining, unique shops, and Fat Harold’s Beach Club, where shag dancing happens every night. The on-site amenities—indoor and outdoor pools, lazy river, hot tubs, kiddie pools, and fitness facilities—are unbeatable and a big part of why we chose North Myrtle Beach for our vacation home.
