The Bucket House

Relax with the whole family at this serene home and watch our resident hummingbird eat while you sip your morning coffee on this covered porch! Enjoy the peacefulness this house offers with it being secluded just enough to escape the hustle of everyday life but close enough to fun adventures at nearby towns. Only 10 mins to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance, 20 mins to Sparta and 30 mins to West Jefferson.

When my aunt was a child her favorite time was spent in Laurel Springs at her grandparents house and so she put on her "bucket list" owning a house in this area. Life as we all know happens and some things get pushed a little farther down the "list", but a couple of years ago her dream finally came true and she was on the hunt for the house that made you feel at home and washed the stress away. This house checked off almost every mark for her, so we now have rightfully named "The Bucket House". We cannot wait for you to experience the pure joy we have spending time up here. This house can offer it all from just having a peaceful getaway hanging out at the house or if you want to tube, check out the many festivals the surrounding towns have or hop over to the local winery that is only 10 mins away! When you pull up to the house you will notice a small wooden building which used to be a small store and will hopefully but offered by next year as either a game room or extra bunk area but right now it is not offered for use. It is in need of repair so please use caution around it. Driving down the hill to the house there is an apple tree which the deer LOVE to eat all the fallen apples so there is a very good chance you will see them out there first thing in the morning or just at dusk. there are 2 ponds that are on each side of the house. The pond on the hill is stocked and is catch and release, the deer also love the area around the animal shed behind that pond as well! The lower pond is a work in progress but you can still see fish swimming from time to time. You have about 2 acres to roam around and a good little hike is from the back of the house up to the top of the hill. As a reminder to please take caution when hiking since we are in the mountains and wild animals also call the woods home.

Once inside you have the cozy living room where you can just hang out and watch RoKu or have a family board game night! The master bedroom/bathroom, living room, second full bath, dining room, laundry and kitchen are all on the main level. The kitchen is fully stocked with just about anything you would need, we have truly tried to make sure anything you would have at home would be here as well. There is a Kerurig , drip coffee pot as well as a kettle and tea pot. The master bedroom has a king size bed with an attached bathroom with a tub. The 2nd full bath has a walk in shower. Upstairs there is a loft area with two double beds and plenty of play area for the kids or even extra room for more guest that could sleep on an air mattress. There are games, books and coloring for kids in this loft space. Off of the loft is another bedroom with 2 double beds with a desk.

As you can tell we are a little drive from town so we do suggest if you are coming in at a later time to stop by the grocery store. There is a local store about 15mins away but their hours may vary and they only carry select food items.

**We do allow dogs BUT we ask they are house and crate trained. If you are unable to take your dog on your adventures we ask you please crate your dog and please do not leave them tied up outside.**
