Alternate between our heated pool, hot tub, sauna & cold plunge for the ultimate Thermotherapy experience. An ancient wellness practice designed to alleviate stress and rejuvenate both the body and mind.

The Space:
Tanbark Ten is fully equipped to be your home-away-from-home. The gourmet kitchen is furnished with stainless steel appliances to include; an 8 burner gas range, 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, large refrigerator and a pantry with extra storage and a second refrigerator. Other features include granite countertops, an 8-seat kitchen island with a chef’s table + a 6-seat breakfast nook. Or enjoy your meals around a 16-seat dining table, in our Greenhouse Dining Room, featuring a wall of windows complete with beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain views. Want to relax with your favorite drink and cheeky conversation, check out our "speakeasy" or take it to the back patio for an epic barbecue around the swimming pool.

After hiking through the Blue Ridge Mountains or skiing down the mountain at Wintergreen, relax in the hot tub or decamp to the family's great room for a movie night. This comfy space includes a gas fireplace, a flatscreen TV with streaming access and gigabit internet and whole house WiFi!

Feeling a little competitive?! Let’s Go! Grab your favorite drink and head to the game room packed with a ping pong table, an arcade game, wall-mounted scrabble, shuffle board, flat screen tv for your favorite sports gatherings, and of course, a full-size bar. Want to go outside and compete?! Check out our five-hole disc golf course or simply setup the cornhole boards on the UVA turf field and game on!!!

Or, for a more relaxed approach, pour some hot cocoa or a glass of local wine or beer and gather around the gas fire pit, and take in the expansive Blue Ridge Mountain landscape. We'll let you in on a little secret, go back out after the kiddos are asleep, bring your comfy blanket, cuddle up and look up for some of the best star gazing you'll ever see!

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire home and all amenities!

The Neighborhood:
Tanbark Ten is a 10-acre property with picturesque views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Rockfish Valley in Afton, Virginia. While the property feels like the perfect amount of secluded, you’re still only 1-mile away from beer, spirit and wine tasting, local shopping and dining on route 151, and many outdoor adventures like fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. Getting Around:
Private cars are typically used however, Uber and Lyft services from Charlottesville and private tour companies are available for wine tours and other experiences.

Other Things to Note:
The original farmhouse was built in the 1800s and was added on to over the years. As a result, there are small steps between many of the rooms. Please watch your step.

There is an old barn on the property. Please enjoy its nostalgia from a distance. For your safety, the barn is off limits to guests. Guests who enter the barn do so at their own risk. Additionally, there is a small house-like structure on the property as well that is also off limits. We are planning to renovate this structure in the coming few months and again, for your safety, should not be accessed by guests.

Pool Heating. We offer pool heating from October through April at the cost of $150 for the first day and $50 per day thereafter. So, for example, if your reservation is 4 days and you want the pool heated, then we will send you a $300 fee request. Heated pool temperatures range between 78-87 degrees and depend on the pool being covered at night and when not in use. The pool heating fee is all or nothing for a stay. Heating fees do not apply to the hot tub.
