Amazing Views

This home was exactly what we were looking for in a Carmel beach house, a casual space steps from the beach and amazing views of the ocean. It has comfortable beds, good quality towels and a stocked kitchen. There are 2 separate backyard patios which are a nice respite on windy days. The upstairs balcony is perfect for reading a book or watching the dolphins playing in the surf. The home is ten steps away from a stairway to the beach and 8 blocks to downtown Carmel. Jim was an excellent host. He was quick to communicate and very cordial. If you are looking for a relaxing, casual atmosphere this is the place. We would definitely rent again!

Wonderful location

My husband and I have rented this home numerous times and absolutely love the location. Just across the street are steps leading down to the beach for morning and sunset walks with our dogs. We especially love a fire in the fireplace in the evening and the smell and sound of the ocean outside. Each time we've come we have stayed a little longer and this past trip was for six weeks and we still didn't want to leave. Jim has always been a pleasure to work with and is very accommodating.

Carmel Beach House

Wonderful location with an older home. Just like my grandmothers, even with the built in ironing board. The stairs to the beach were literally out the front door. front windows looked out to Pebble Beach on the right and Point Lobos to the left. Location, location, location. A bit of a walk uphill to the shops in town for older folks, but public parking was plentiful. Three spacious bedrooms with the master upstairs with its own balcony. An older home but quite nicely kept and supplied. Definitely would go again.

Wonderful Location

My husband and I have rented this home numerous times and can never get enough of the ocean view. It is directly across the street from steps leading down to Carmel Beach for early morning and sunset walks with our dogs. We especially enjoy a fire in the fireplace in the evenings with the sounds and smell of the ocean just outside. Each time we visit we stay a little longer. This year we stayed six weeks and we still weren't ready to leave! Jim has always been fantastic to work with and is very pleasant and accommodating.

Spectacular view

This is a wonderful house with a spectacular view!! It is very charming house. When we arrived, the house was immaculate. The master bedroom is large and has a balcony. The kitchen is very well equipped. You never will tire of the view of the Pacific Ocean. We thoroughly enjoyed every day at this wonderful property.

Majestic Million Dollar View

My husband and I were searching for availability when we noticed the abysmal review for our favorite vacation property. We have stayed there at least ten times over the last ten years and have nothing but fond, majestic memories. The ocean view out of the master bedroom, with the noice of the breaking waves in the background is breathtaking in it's serenity. The owner has been nothing but helpful and accommodating throughout our stays. The memories with our family & pets supersede minor flaws in parking or other superficial inconveniences. The pictures and verbiage that the owner posted are accurate and truthful but only portray a small part of the local beauty that is Carmel. We can't wait for our next rendezvous at 'Carmel Beach House' as we truly feel privileged to stay there.

Beware!

More importantly than a needed update, this property is in a state of disrepair. It is in dire need of general maintenance and upkeep. It's sad a property on such an iconic street is in this condition. We left before our rental of one month was over.

This review is both heartbreaking and a surprise. All of our contact with my guests was through their personal assistant, who was very professional and nice. Within the first week after arrival, the guests had their personal assistant request a return stay for a month in August next year. Shortly afterwards, they offered to buy our beach house. We were flattered but declined. We responded and accommodated every request they made quickly and happily, including helping to arrange for weekly cleaning. Their personal assistant indicated that all was well. After receiving this review, I requested a candid assessment of our home directly from the guest. She graciously agreed, but her comments included her suggestion that we redesign our driveway (too tight) and front door steps. Our home is not recently remodeled, so as an older Carmel beach front bungalow, is not for families that are accustomed to having their vacation home managed by a house manager. However, it is a cozy, inviting, clean place to enjoy a family vacation steps from the beach!

little house by the sea

I rented this place over the summer for a bit. What I liked: View of ocean. Easy walk to town. Landlord that is active and participates in the rental agreement. Clean house. I especially liked that there are 3 distinct bedrooms with bathrooms. What I didn't like is the parking-virtually 2 small spaces, which doesn't bode well for inviting any guests. The house is dated, but was perfect for me.

Carmel Beach House

Our stay at your house was wonderful. It was really great to have such a short stroll to the beach and also be just a short 15-20 minute walk to downtown Carmel. We also found your place to be very convenient to all the local sights such as Carmel Mission, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Seventeen mile drive, and many fine restaurants. You were a great Owner to work with and we will definitely be back.
