What a perfect spot! An absolutely gorgeous view and just a couple of blocks to the restaurants and shops. It was a wonderful few days in Encinitas!The kitchen was well stocked with all of the essentials. We usually had breakfast “at home” and ate out for lunch and dinner. The beds were quite comfortable and sheets were of decent quality. Our favorite spot was sitting on the deck and just watching the surf and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you!

We could not have asked for a better place!! The views are unbeatable and you can walk to everything! Big TV, great AC, huge shower, comfy couches, king bed, plenty of porch furniture, A! The location and views are excellent. The cleanliness and attention to detail were subpar for the price that’s charged. The outdoor shower was very dirty and littered with trash, the window coverings had layers of dust, most of the plates in the kitchen were chipped.. the list goes on but I’ll stop there. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the property manager was responsive/helpful after checkin (some challenges with communication prior to checkin).

Great location in Encinitas

Location is as good as it gets in Encinitas - walkable to anything and a spectacular oceanfront view of the bluff. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and well-stocked. The cleaning service did however not check the refrigerator and we had to throw out the last visitor’s leftover sushi and fruit salad. The converted garage apartment is well-appointed and private but the bathroom is scaled for children. None of these mild complaints would keep me from rating this place as great and we would happily rent again.

Beautiful spot! Might be best for those without kids.

Overall, we had a great time staying here. The view from the deck can’t be beat, and we spent a lot of time outside overlooking the ocean when we weren’t out at the beach. The beds were comfy, it was nice to have AC, and we could walk to downtown easily. It’s summer and with the doors open, ants kind of took over the property in the doorways and kitchen. I think for the kind of price tag on this property, this would have been sprayed for by a pest company and under control.A few things to consider for people who are staying here with kids — D street beach access is closed, so it was not very easy carrying all beach stuff down to moonlight with kids in tow. I wish that had been communicated by the property management company. The TV didn’t work, which we would have liked to have the option for, and there were a few things in the home that were not kid-friendly. A few marble side tables that are not bolstered to their base - one fell off and almost hit my 3 year old. It was about 30 lbs - so I’d recommend furniture that is totally kid friendly if this is going to be advertised for families. We did have a great time, but given these issues and the price tag, I likely won’t book this place again for our family.

My family and a few friends stayed for a week, and it was glorious! The house was sparkling clean and well stocked with sheets and many many towels. Kitchen was very workable, with an abundance of appliances. The non-stick pans were pretty scuffed up and needed replacing, otherwise it was well stocked. Beds were extremely comfy. Everybody slept well. Some of the appointments in the casita were less than great. Sheets were torn, and the ikea dresser was in shambles. We made good use of the outdoor shower. It was a flight to find a children’s bucket and beach shovels— would have been nice to have a boogie board or two at the property. The week was an absolute dream and we would love to come back some day!

Spectacular views, inside of home and casita need deep cleaning

Fantastic location with walkability to several shops, restaurants and the beach of course. The deck was the highlight of the weeklong visit. Sweeping ocean and beach views in a quiet neighborhood was very much enjoyed by our group. Upon arrival we discovered the home had not been vacuumed of the food crumbs and pet hair (?) from prior occupant, some bedding had blood and hair on it indicating the sheets had not been changed. ALL ceiling fans were coated in dirt. Cobwebs throughout the casita. Dirty laundry in the drawers in the primary bedroom. Wad of hair and dried contact lens on bathroom floor in main building...the list goes on. After cleaning the fans, cobwebs, changing sheets, and wiping the crumbs and debris out of the kitchen drawers we settled in to try to enjoy the week. The casita has a strong urine odor at all times. The bleach smell on arrival faded to reveal the urine smell. We did complain to the host and they offered to have it cleaned on day two but we were already settled. A cleaning person showed up on day two at 9am on the patio UNANNOUNCED. Scared the daylights out of us! He was very pleasant and took the dirty sheets and clothing (underwear and socks) left by the prior occupant. On day three we left our teens to sleep in the casita. The gate was locked and without any notice the landscapers showed up for about an hour- inside the locked gate and we had left the main house unlocked for our teens to get into the kitchen. Not very secure feeling.

The house had everything we needed and the view was spectacular. We thought there might be a lot of neighborhood traffic and noise, but that did not prove to be the case. Both units were very clean. It was also convenient to be within walking distance of downtown Encinitas. Cindy was very accommodating. We would stay there again and recommended to others.

Just What We Needed!

We needed a place to relax for a week that was near the beach and within walking distance of restaurants - this house did not disappoint! While it is older than many of the properties around it, and it doesn’t have top-of-the-line features, the house is nonetheless very charming with an outstanding view of the ocean; we made good use of the deck every single day. The garden between the main house and the guest house has a lovely fountain that only my added to the overall sense of calm. The guest house didn’t have the same appeal as the main house, but my teenage daughter was perfectly happy as staying there as it was quiet and gave her a chance to escape the rest of us ;). Also, there are bunnies! We saw one two nights ago at twilight nibbling on the grass for about an hour.

Perfect Pacific Retreat

This cottage was the perfect place for us to use as a base camp for surfing San Diego and Orange Counties. It is charming and the location is central to all Encinitas has to offer, with short drive to Cardiff and Solana. Sunset evening dinners on the cliff were breathtaking.

The Perfect Beach Vacation

We rented this beautiful beach cottage and loved every minute of it. Excellent beach access, spacious enough for 5 adults, and the most stunning ocean views. I can’t wait to come back!

Not all it's cracked up to be

This house stopped being charming about 10 years ago. Now it's just old and dilapidated. Dirty curtains, rugs, pillows, and bedskirts, I was not happy with the cleanliness. The bathroom rug needed to be tossed in the trash. There were broken cabinets and blinds (that also did not cover the entire window in the master bedroom), ants in the kitchen, and dust and cobwebs on the light fixtures and on all the random decorations, and no light blocking curtains whatsoever. Be prepared to be up with the sun. After the initial cleaning supply smell wore off, the casita reeked of urine. The futon in the casita was also filthy and covered with hair and lint. The bright side: clean, fresh linens and towels, nice shower in the main (only) bathroom in the main house, and great location to the beach and restaurants. But renter, beware. I would not rent this house again.

What a fantastic home, everything you would need was there, plenty of beach stuff, towels, beautiful yard and what a view. Cindy was amazing to work with. Would stay here over and over. Thanks

poorly maintained cottage

cottage in need of proper maintenance! lets start with locks and keys prior to entering this property. locks jam and the keys have to be forced pushed in and out several times before it unlocks. change the locks ASAP! windows and shades remind you of the 50s and that is a compliment! Washer and dryer looks also to be few decades old. sofa and patio chairs are left overs from a garage sale. Overall not worth the asking price which is in par with a 4-star hotel!!! Basic rundown place with a view

Not as expected

My family and I were extremely disappointed with the cleanliness and condition of the house. For the nightly rate we expected a lot more. The first night of our stay, our children complained of sand in the guest bedroom sheets and the master bedroom sheets had blood stains. The house was falling apart - doors hanging off the hinge in the kitchen, window treatments rusted and torn, bandaids used as stickers to cover stains of the toilet paper holder, dirty floor and the outdoor furniture was not wiped down with stains all over the table and cushions of the chairs. The only rewarding quality of this property was thr view from the deck.
