House was great, location was fabulous. It was stocked above and beyond what we expected and really nice. Beer, soda, wine, towels, etc.The views are amazing, but there are a lot of stairs to get to the condo. Once you’re there, you forget all about it. The golf cart was a great add-on that we really appreciated. Ania was a great help and very responsiveWe had a marvelous time!

Our stay at this home was absolutely fantastic! The hosts, Anne and Rory were excellent—welcoming, attentive, and even provided us with drinks, which was such a thoughtful touch. The location couldn’t have been better, and the inspiring ocean view was truly breathtaking. Waking up to that view every morning was a highlight of our trip. We highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing getaway. We would definitely stay here again!

Another day in paradise!

This property is incredible!!! It has everything you ever wanted in a vacation rental: clean, quiet, extremely well stocked, comfortable beds, very short walk to town, unobstructed view of the harbor, casino and the town. The owners are very responsive to any questions you may have and we look forward to returning again.

Family get together

Lovely stay with well appointed amenities.We decorated the palm tree for Christmas and placed it near the fireplace with its ample supply of fire wood. The Scott family answered all questions quickly. Easy walk to town. With two older people the funicular was welcome and necessary. The family used the golf cart a few times to leave town for a site visit.

Wonderful Location and Views

Our group ranged from 13 to 67 years of age and all enjoyed staying in this home. The property is in the perfect location with beautiful views of the harbor, town, and hillside - a very short walk into town and to the ferry dock. The home had plenty of room for our group of 6 and we made good use of the large balcony. Beds were very comfortable. The funicular was most helpful in getting our bags up to the property and for a couple in our party who had trouble navigating the stairs up to the unit. The golf care was also useful in getting our bags from the ferry dock to the property. A very clean and comfortable place from which to enjoy Avalon.

Beautiful and spacious

Open floor plan , with wonderful natural light and gorgeous views of Avalon. The floor plan is great , large indoor /outdoor living space upstairs and spacious bedrooms downstairs. Very clean amd updated. I highly recommend staying here. I’ve been coming to Catalina since I was a child every summer. This is one of the nicest spaces I’ve stayed in.

Excellent location!

Excellent location just a short walk from the ferry dock. The layout of the home was perfect for three couples. We each had our own bedroom with a comfortable bed. The home has some of the best views on the island! We enjoyed walking to the grocery store and staying in one night to cook in the well stocked kitchen and sit on the patio in the warm sunshine. The owners were quick to respond to questions and left little treats on the pillows and staples in the kitchen. We really appreciated the extra special welcoming touch.

Annual weekend with girlfriends

I had stayed at this property last year with a group of girlfriends. We loved it and I knew it would be the perfect spot for this special group of friends ,who have been doing this for 33 years. Can’t say enough t great things about the Scott family(hosts). The most beautiful views of the harbor,easily accessible and perfect amenities for our friend who recently had knee surgery. The funicular was perfect. I will continue to try to come back to this home for further vacations in Catalina.

Good: Clean, updated, well-stocked, nice view, funicular. Most comfortable beds we have ever had on the island.Not so good: Lots of stairs. The funicular was necessary for luggage, groceries, and some people in our party. Didn't see instructions for TVs or fireplace. Dishwasher bottom rack needs repair. Golf cart did not have power steering, gas gauge or blinkers. Key was not hanging on hook or in the lockbox by garage when we arrived.

Turning 7

Our grandson turned 7 while we visited Catalina. His Dad and Uncle used to go to Catalina when they were young kids. They had a great time reliving their adventures with Caden. We could not have asked for better hosts. They went out of their way to make it a memorable trip. With some of our group being on the older side, we especially appreciated the use of the golf cart during our stay. The most memorable moment was when our grandson discovered the Funicular. He is a train buff and having his own "train" right next to his house was, he thought, the best birthday present.

A weekend of celebrations

Came for a family reunion, memorial, and an engagement proposal (she said yes!). My family stayed here at the Sunset Terrace and had the time of our lives. The house was just as advertised. As owners of a rental property on the east coast, we appreciated all the extra efforts the Scott family provided. And the communication with the host was perfect. As for the home specifically, the view is amazing. The kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of room for eight people, let alone the six of us. And it was clean and organized. Didn’t use the TV’s so we can’t review. Funicular was a big feature. Other houses don’t have this lift and they were walking up lots of flights of stairs. Bathrooms had plenty of towels. Didn’t use the bbq, but the fire pit was a nice touch in the late evenings.

We had an AMAZING time. The Scott's were absolutely wonderful. They were avaliable with a text or a phone call at all hours if needed.Beautiful home.Access to their golf cart and funicular (outdoor elevator) were an added bonus!The care, and attention to details really set these hosts apart from others. Some drinks in the fridge, some snacks, extra tooth brushes, stocked laundry room, etc. If you have babies, they have a high chair for use. I cannot say enough about the host, the home or the amenities. Highly recommend!
