From the beautiful sunrise to the proximity to the beach, pool and parking to the relaxing decor, this beach property is one of the best! Additionally, The Deck restaurant on site has the largest and best tasting shrimp I have ever had! The condo itself is clean and well stocked with comfortable furnishings. The sliding glass doors need work (hard to open and close) but one had a note that it will be replaced, and I am sure that the other one will be looked at soon.

Overall I enjoyed the stay, the complex was very nice with awesome views and quiet beach. I loved having a restaurant onsite and the food there was excellent. We were here in Nov at Thanksgiving so nothing was too crowded; I can see that parking on the premises could be difficult during busy season but we had no problem.However, I probably wouldn't choose this unit again. The king bed in the primary suite is too soft for us, we prefer a firmer mattress. Luckily we were alone and able to utilize the queen bedroom, but the bedframe in that room was so squeaky whenever someone turned in bed too fast it made a noise. Also the primary BR has a lot of large furniture making it hard to walk around the bed without bumping into the corners of that massive bedframe; I've got bruises to show for it. The refrigerator makes noise nonstop; my husband is sensitive to those types of things so it made his stay less than perfect. Also agreeing with others about the locks on the sliding doors; they are tricky and you have to hold the one in the living area as you close it; the one in the bedroom is the same type of door but the lock functions differently. Just know that you will have to play around with them to figure out how to lock them (not that anyone could really get to the balconies easily, they are elevated and have bushes in front of them.)My only other issue was booking; VRBO says that the price shown is the price paid, but when I went to check out the price was higher.

Reviewer Comments: My daughters and I enjoyed our stay very much and the fact that it was a short walk from the Condo to the beach was great! and also that we could sit on our balcony and see the beach and boats as they went by was great. 3 things that were not good was we couldn't figure out how to make a bed out of one of the couches, we could not access the balcony from the master bedroom due to a broken door, and there were no directions on how to use the dishwasher.

FYI.Another couple had our key code and walked right into our condo after we checked in and got settled. Not okay. Then We got locked out and had to use a physical key the brought to us, which was fine but weā€™re nervous the first few days that someone else would walk in with our code. Also a mouse ran across the floor and under the bed in the front bedroom. We made the best of it, but wouldnā€™t stay again.

The unit was clean, modern, and comfortable. We loved that it had a smart TV. I also enjoyed having a washer/dryer!!! I'm all about fresh towels. Beach access was perfect. The restaurant at the colony was DELICIOUS and very affordable. We didn't use the pool, but it looked great. Parking in the parking garage is also an added bonus. Apparently, there were some cool things to see and do on Tybee, but we were beach bums and didn't do a single "touristy" thing, so I can't speak for any of that. There aren't enough nice things to say about our stay. We were thoroughly pleased.

Reviewer Comments: I decided to take my mother and daughters on a mothers day trip and decided this location because of the sweet staff in the office and the room that we experienced last year. My sister arrived first close to the time of closing and the girl in the office was very short and did not assist them in finding the location of the room. My mother is 85 years old and we had a 2 year old baby. It took my sister 45 minutes to find the room while the rest were sitting in the car with no restroom (there was no restroom they could use) after riding for four hours. The room was clean if you did not inspect or if you kept your shoes on otherwise, your feet were black from dirt. We had to clean the room!

Over the years, Iā€™ve watched this community grow while still maintaining the relaxed, family-friendly feel that makes Tybee special. Guests love this location for its direct beach access, walkability, and central mid-island setting that makes getting anywhere on Tybee easy. In addition to managing condos here, Iā€™m also an owner at Beachside Colony, which means I care for this property the same way I care for my own.
