Accurately priced, great host
We stayed with Hugo for a week in January and we were pleased with what we got for the price we paid (~$150 USD/n including taxes/fees). The beds were comfortable, the water was hot, the A/C in the bedrooms worked well (A/C is only in the bedrooms), and we felt very safe. Hugo was a very responsive host and was kind to provide a second set of keys upon request. The property has a front entry gate that requires a key for both entry and exit, so groups staying with different daily itineraries will need multiple sets of keys. We rented bikes from Hugo, which were in great condition and competitively priced to other local rental shops, which we very much appreciated. The location is about a 20-30 min walk from the primary strip of Tulum for restaurants/bars/activities, and there are closer restaurants in the La Veleta neighborhood. The photos of the listing are a bit outdated, as the actual unit and rooftop area are much more weathered and worn than the photos depict. From our experience, the rooftop area is in need of maintenance, the photos listed are outdated and not an entirely accurate representation of it's current state. The unit is also quite weathered, but everything was in working order. Enough coffee pods for the first morning are provided, along with tea. We cooked simple breakfasts in the kitchen, but anything more involved than basic breakfast would be difficult with the cookware/utensils provided.
