What a stunner of a location where you can listen to the waves, watch the sunrise over the ocean, and see the Milky Way at night. Very spacious and well equipped, particularly the kitchen for those who like to cook. The whole group loved it!

This place was in a great location. The only complaints I had was that we had to make our own beds when we arrived. The towels smelled moldy when wet, and the doors were filthy. My socks were black by the end of the trip. None of us wanted to walk barefoot. The bathrooms smelled like urine. I don’t think any of the floors were cleaned before we arrived. But other than that the views were amazing. If the place was clean it would have been a 10/10!

This is a perfect house for a vacation. Easy drive to restaurants and or shopping, sightseeing, etc. The house is comfortable, well equipped kitchen, and great views from some of the bedrooms. We would definitely return.

A great place!

Our whole family (two sisters with husbands and children plus our parents) had a fabulous week here. You just can't beat the location and quick walk to Cape Hedge. Hanging out on the deck was wonderful, bedrooms were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped, and really appreciated all of the beach chairs, beach toys, and the outdoor shower. Most importantly, Bruce was quick to respond to any questions I had. Definitely recommend and hope to have a chance to stay here again.

Beautiful, spacious house steps from ocean

This is a beautiful, clean and spacious house on a quiet street in a peaceful setting in Rockport. The views of the ocean from the upper deck are vast and stunning, and the access to the rocks, water and beach is perfect. We loved taking long walks along the ocean and hearing the waves crash from the house. A nice lawn in front made for great pick-up football and catch. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend getaway for a family reunion and to celebrate Easter, and we recommend this home to anyone! Great for extended families.

Wonderful vacation - highly recommend!

Both my husband and I, plus two married daughters and four children, could not have had a more wonderful vacation in Rockport! This delightful rental home was charming, spacious, and fully appointed with all the needed amenities....and it was spotless. The outdoor grill and basketball set-up were put to good use...and for those times we cooked indoors, the kitchen was large and fully equipped. The location was great...close to the beaches....also a great location for talking long walks in charming neighborhoods. We highly recommend this wonderful property and look forward to coming back again! Definitely five stars!

A spacious, beautifully decorated retreat for one and all!

This house was conveniently located near the towns of Rockport and Gloucester with just a short drive to each. The beach is just a pleasant walk away. We were continuously amazed at how well stocked this house was. A tremendous supply of pots, pans, dishes etc! The bedrooms are large and tastefully decorated! Our favorite time was when we would all meet up on the deck to enjoy a beverage and a beautiful view! We would finish the night off with a gathering around the fire pit and then fall asleep to the sound of the crashing waves! What more could one ask for? Thank you Bruce for sharing your lovely home!

A great location with a wonderful view of the water

The house is well-equipped and is very spacious. The large upstairs deck is very comfortable and has a great view. The house is in a really good location, close to many nearby shops, stores and vacation spots. We toured the area, which is delightful, and also went on a very successful whale watch with Seven Seas, which proved to be one of the highlights of our stay. All of the restaurants we tried were very good and the wait staff were very professional and personable. We really enjoyed some very good meals at the Glouster House. I would recommend that you find the Paper House, just outside of Rockport center, which is made out of 100,000 newspapers, it is fascinating. There is a lot to do in the area, and walking the beach is always something to enjoy. We wholeheartedly recommend this house for a great vacation!

Love the location

Best location, awesome upper deck. Great front yard. Loved the open floor plan on ground level. Spoke to owner during visit. He was very nice and quick to respond. Lovely vacation. Highly recommend it. Will return. :) Side note: outdoor grill is pretty rusted and old. Top grate fell over because of rust. I cleaned main grate for food and that was great. No rust. Only 3 of 5 burners worked. We were still able to cook 8 steaks on it, no problem. There was propane available. So it’s usable just not in the best shape.

AMAZING OCEANVIEW HOUSE IN ROCKPORT!

Just returned home after five perfect days at the perfect ocean view house in Rockport! My three (adult) kids, along with their spouses and I, immediately fell in love with this house upon our arrival! It is open, spacious and bright, and has everything you would want in a vacation rental property. The kitchen is very well equipped, with plenty of cookware and colorful dishware to serve a large family group. (They even have lobster platters and utensils for your ‘lobster picnic on the beach’!) The bedrooms are bright and colorful, with comfortable beds and large closets. The large upper deck has a grill, a table and chairs for outdoor dining, as well as lovely deck furniture for lounging in the sun! From the upper deck and several bedrooms, the ocean views are breath-taking! It is a very short drive to the lovely harbor town of Rockport, as well as Gloucester, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and other nearby places to visit. My family and I have rented many vacation houses, but this one is, by far, the best! Many thanks to the owner, Bruce, for his kindness during the rental process, as well as our time there, and especially, for his generosity in sharing his lovely Rockport house! We definitely hope to be back next year!

Absolutely spectacular

We were 10 women, coming together to celebrate a friend's upcoming wedding. We are all busy professionals and finding one place where we could all get away from the stress of work and truly be present was essential to us. Ocean Crag made that possible. This house is perfectly located on the Rockport/Gloucester line: it's easy to drive to restaurants, get to downtown Rockport, and access the commuter rail station. It's minutes away from a supermarket and liquor store and equally close to the sandy beach at Good Harbor. At the house itself, the views from the porch are spectacular; calming ocean and rocky beach. The street is sweet and quiet with friendly neighbors. It hearkens to a time long ago. Once we entered the home we all felt an instant calm. Bruce has truly made this a home away from home for anyone who enters. There are soft comfortable couches, a big open dining space and table, and plenty of beautiful white knit blankets to keep you warm if you open the windows to let the sea air flow in. A downstairs bedroom guarantees access to anyone in your party who may have difficulty with steps. The washer dryer can come in handy after a long beach day. We were particularly excited by the grille which meant that, as such a large group, we didn't have to stress about pots or pans, worry about overheating the kitchen with cooking or spend excess money going out to eat. The kitchen is perfectly equipped with anything you need (cooking oil, vinegar, coffee filters, tongs, trash bags, paper towels and napkins). Beds are extremely comfortable and two of the rooms have spectacular ocean views with ceiling fans. TVs are equipped with cable, but I suggest keeping them off and letting the ocean be your view! This house is perfect for large families trying to do a cousins getaway or for anyone who needs a break from stressful city life. You'll awake each morning to the sound of the ocean breaking on the sand. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, well equipped place. And couldn't have dreamed of a better owner! Thank you for such an incredible stay, Bruce. I'm crossing my fingers I have an excuse to get back there very soon!

Fabulous rental - Everything you need and more

Our family just returned from spending a delightful week in this house, and I am happy to recommend it to anyone else as a very welcoming and comfortable space. We have been coming to Rockport since 1968 but have never stayed close to a beach before, and I have to say, it was wonderful to be there. Our sons and their families loved being able to go back and forth to the beach for "adventures" without having to get into a car, and the outdoor shower made it easy to clean our grandchildren up before bringing them back into the house. Since the house is close to Gloucester, it was easy to hop in the car and run to a grocery store or pharmacy whenever we needed to. It was also very easy to drive to downtown Rockport and poke around there. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of dishes, glasses, pots and pans and even lobster-eating plates, small butter bowls, and utensils. Bedrooms are large with lots of closet and drawer space in each one. Our four older grandchildren enjoyed sleeping together in a room with two sets of bunk beds, and their parents enjoyed beautiful views of the ocean from their rooms. The downstairs bedroom where my husband and I stayed was comfortable and separate from the upstairs quarters, giving anyone sleeping there a bit more privacy. All of the bedspreads and blankets were cheerful and fresh. We chose to pay the extra fee and rent sheets and towels, and they were all good quality linens. The house is not air-conditioned, but we were comfortable with the ocean breezes, since we did not have any extremely hot days. There are ceiling fans in the front two bedrooms and a few other fans in the house. Outside there were a lot of beach chairs and sand toys for children to use, a yard to play in, and even a tall basketball goal for some friendly family games. It would be nice if the house had a third bathroom, but we managed fine with the two that were there. It was only a week. Bruce, the owner, was gracious and helpful, both when we booked the house and when we arrived. He called us when the house had been cleaned to tell us we could check in early if we liked and connected with us later that day to make sure everything was as it should be. We have rented many houses over the years, and this is one of the best we have seen. We would be happy to rent it again.

Relaxing retreat

Stormy Funeral

Power outage for three days. Owner supplied generator for heat, hot water, and refrigerator. The stove would have been nice, we lost a lot of food.

Beach Vacation

Excellent location in a very comfortable house. Three minute walk to Cape Hedge beach and all the ocean has to offer. Did not want to leave!

I have enjoyed Rockport my entire life summering here until 1983 when the house was converted from a cottage to a home. At this point my family moved to Rockport full time and I attended Rockport Jr. and Sr. High so I know the area very well.

This property is one of a very few homes on Cape Hedge and Long Beaches. You are literally steps from both to enjoy a wonderful beach vacation. The views are outstanding and the summer walks are breathtaking. Enjoy your coffee on the deck or while taking a leisurely walk on Long Beach.

BEACH Location, Location, Location!!! you will not find a better spot for enjoying two of Rockports great beaches. The home is spacious with 5 bedrooms enough for a great family gathering. If a beach vacation is what you desire, you will not be dissappointed.
