The full kitchen has plenty of counter space, a double oven for the chefs, a toaster oven, and a microwave. The custom cabinets are stocked with utensils, cookware and dishes.
The arched front door and original transoms are a few of the architectural features of the home. A piano graces the foyer.

I grew up in Springfield and spent many nights with my grandparents at this home. I became a computer engineer in Huntsville and Washington, DC, but I returned home to help in a family business of property management.
I want this home to be part of bringing people together.

My mother's parents moved into this home in 1930; they remodeled the house in 1932. The house still has original light fixtures, wall arches, transoms with original screening, wide molding at the base of the walls, narrow hardwood flooring, original heartwood pine flooring in the kitchen, a rounded solid wood front door, and other unique features.
I had wonderful visits with my grandparents at this house. After my grandmother died, my mother wanted to move back to this house where she grew up. She had rooms added to one end of it, but she kept many of the original features in the older rooms. She enjoyed living in it, and the views, for over 20 years.
I wanted to keep the house in the family after my mother's death. It was not practical for me to move in it, but I wanted to share it and its history with others. We have historical pictures of Springfield and Nashville throughout the house. Many people have worked to make it a pleasant, historic, and, I hope, fun house for groups to stay in. We appreciate your consideration of staying at the Draughon House on your next visit to the middle Tennessee or southern Kentucky area.
