Our family (3 adults, our daughter, and our dog) had an amazing week at this beautiful Kootenay Lake home. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and completely at ease. The house has so much character with its antique charm, and one of our favourite surprises was the incredible book collection. There were so many interesting books to browse that everyone found something to enjoy. Our daughter absolutely loved the piano and treated us to little concerts throughout the week.We spent countless hours on the two balconies playing cards, Jenga, and board games while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The entire property, inside and out, has such a relaxing atmosphere that it was easy to forget about the hustle and bustle of city life. The quiet country setting was exactly what our family needed.Claudia and Klaus were wonderful hosts—kind, approachable, and genuinely caring. It was clear they take great pride in sharing their home and making sure their guests have a memorable stay. The main beach is just a short walk down the hill, and the views are absolutely breathtaking (especially for us Albertans!). Kootenay Lake is truly a gem. We do recommend bringing water shoes, as the shoreline is rocky. We also discovered a quieter little beach just a minute and a half's drive away, where we spent time admiring and collecting beautiful pebbles in every colour. The floating island was another huge hit with our family and provided hours of fun. Love love love the place! Thank you!
