Located in the historic Shandon neighborhood, our guesthouse sits above an old carriage garage. It's tucked away behind the main house, surrounded by trees, making it feel like a treehouse hideaway. You'll have the entire guesthouse to yourself(ves)! Since it's detached and located behind the main house, the back yard area is shared, but you still have the ability to maintain your privacy. Access to the guesthouse is easy and located right off Rosewood Drive. Because it's so secluded you'd never know you're within walking distance to restaurants, bars, and grocery stores.

Sparkling clean! A perfect place to stay while visiting our son at USC. The bed was sooo comfy and we had two nights of great sleep. We had what we needed in the kitchen to cook Thanksgiving dinner for the three of us. Could use another chair in the living room but still five stars!

This was our second stay and it was just as nice. The neighborhood is friendly as we were out walking our dog as well as quiet in the evenings. We would definitely stay again when back into town for a weekend!

Great location, clean and great host!

In town for a multi-day event at USC. About 7 minute drive to heart of campus, great neighborhood. Comfortably slept my wife and I, and our 13 year old had the pull out couch. Everything was very comfortable and appointed. Host was super easy to connect with, highly recommend!

We were only in town for a couple of nights, he we enjoyed our stay at this property. I love the character in little old houses, and this one did not disappoint! Despite the age of the house, it is clearly well maintained and updates have been done to make it a comfortable place to stay. We appreciated all the little items provided, like soap, toiletries, bottled water, and k cups for the coffee pot. The bed was extremely comfortable and the heat was able to keep up with the chilly nights and keep us warm and toasty. There was plenty of space for our dogs as well, and k appreciated that the house didn’t have a lot of knick knacks or “extras” that we would have worried about the dogs knocking over or getting into. I will say, I didn’t realize just how close to the main house the carriage house is located. It does feel strange pulling into the driveway so close to the main house, but it really never ended up being a big deal. We would definitely stay here again!

Best thing for us was the location near our son's house. It has a let of stairs leading up that I had asked about beforehand but never heard back. It feels like a tree house, with lots of windows and trees. Very comfortable bed although I would have preferred a king. Suggestions for owner: coffee mugs - there was one huge one and then 4 tiny ones. Provide a few 12 to 16 oz. The water pressure was pretty bad and it was hard to figure our the hot water in the shower. I could not see the mirror over the bathroom sink (it was too high) and there is not another mirror in the whole place. The charging ports in the lamps was a great idea. Will definitely stay here again.

This property is very pet friendly. The neighborhood was extremely walkable & we enjoyed morning and evening walks every day. The neighborhood is fairly loud at night. There was loud music, dogs barking, and a train until around 2am my first night there. The 2nd day I contacted the host and didn’t hear back until that night about a WiFi issue and issue with an outside light shining into the rental all night my first night there. The WiFi never came back on for me but I did at least get sleep the next 2 nights. The neighborhood being walkable was definitely the biggest perk to me and the host went a list of local restaurants they like which was great. All together it was a good trip, just some cons the first night that we had to work with.

Hi all! My name is David and my wife, Carissa, and I have been living in Columbia for the past 9 years. I am originally from Scranton, PA (yes, where "The Office" is set) and I moved here to do a master's degree after finishing Undergrad. I am now working in education. Carissa is from the upstate of SC and works in communications. We purchased this property about 7 years ago and have been renovating it since. We rented out the carriage house as a short-term rental for about 3 years now and just recently moved across town and are now renting out the main house as well! We loved living in the Shandon neighborhood and can not wait to share the property we love so much with our guests! We both love to travel and we both work a lot! We both have part-time jobs; Carissa plays in a cover band and I work part-time in EMS. We love Columbia and spend a lot of time out on Main street. You can often find us at the Soda city market on Saturday mornings or at Bourbon for an evening cocktail. If you need anything or have any questions, please let us know! We are just a few miles away and can be available whenever you need!
