Chickadee - Mountain modern cabin on the Elk River

Chickadee is a newly fully remodeled Mountain Modern cabin in the mountains of Steamboat on the famous Elk River. This cabin easily sleeps 6 with two bathrooms, a king bed in the master, two twin beds in the second bedroom, and a new foam pullout couch in the living room. This plush cabin has everything you need for relaxing including a leather couch and chairs in the living room next to the wood-burning river rock fireplace. The large back patio has four Adirondack chairs and a chair hammock for hanging out and enjoying the Colorado Mountain sights. Both bathrooms were remodled in 2023 and now offer a roomy shower in master and a tub/show in the guest bath. This cabin is perfectly situated on the river and with mountain views this cabin is steps from all Glen Eden Resort amenities, including pickleball/tennis, hot tub, seasonal pool, and wedding/event space down in the Lower Glen.

Watch the kids play from the patio while you enjoy a glass of wine, fall asleep to the sound of the river, or grab a fishing poll and find out why the Elk River is the best Fly Fishing river in Colorado!

Chickadee features a cozy wood-burning fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, satellite smart TV and Wi-Fi. Chickadee is dog-friendly!

The Bauder family spent summers with Lloyd and Zilda Johnson at the lower (old) Glen Eden starting in 1955. We returned every summer for over 30 years! Loved the Chickadee cabin and the story of the new owners. I think they appreciate this piece of paradise as much as my family did!

Very good stay but….

Property is very nice and location was good. Check in and out was easy. Only suggestion, put a lock on the master bedroom door. Caused an issue, where the next morning at breakfast when mom and dad had to go explain some stuff about the birds and bees when our youngest walked in while we were “wrestling” according to the oldest, happened when youngest, late one night needed their night night cup refilled. I thought she locked it, she thought I did. Turned out neither did because they have the cheapest door knob in the world in the place on the master bed door.

The location was great, close to Steamboat for the downhill skiers and close to trails for those who want to snowshoe or cross country skiers. The drive from Steamboat is beautiful. And the hot tub was an added bonus.

The host was extremely responsive, the rate reasonable, the kitchen stocked with everything we would need, the bathrooms updated, and the hot tub and changing rooms a great reprieve for our sore muscles. Only thing is that the washer/dryer was a combo and didn't really dry and the twin beds were quite hard.
