The Space:

Living Room, Dining & Kitchen--

The open living area is anchored by a two-story painted brick fireplace, adjacent to windows overlooking the Sheandandoah Valley. A full size dining area with seating for six and 55” smart TV keep the space connected. Whether gathered for morning coffee or unwinding after a day on the trails, this is the heart of the home—spacious, warm, and effortlessly welcoming.



The fully equipped kitchen invites culinary connection and creativity, featuring stainless steel appliances and a range of small appliances, including a Vitamix blender, KitchenAid stand mixer, toaster, and waffle maker. A complete coffee setup—with a Nespresso Vertuo, Keurig, French press, and traditional drip coffee maker—ensures every morning ritual feels just right.



The kitchen is stocked with a full suite of cookware, bakeware, and serving pieces, along with ample dinnerware and wine glasses for gatherings both casual and celebratory. Whether it’s a slow morning breakfast or a holiday dinner, every detail supports ease and enjoyment.



A cozy breakfast nook seats four comfortably at a farmhouse-style round table, while the island bar offers space for two more—a favorite spot for conversation, light meals, or sharing a glass of wine as the evening winds down.



Upstairs Loft--

Two futons and a 43” smart TV make the second-floor loft a versatile retreat—ideal for kids, movie nights, or an afternoon nap between adventures. Tucked beneath the vaulted ceiling, it feels both open and intimate, a perfect hideaway for downtime.



Lower Level Theatre & Game Room--

Downstairs, the lower level transforms into a hub for entertainment and relaxation. A second electric fireplace anchors the space, surrounded by a large sectional sofa and a 75” smart TV with soundbar—perfect for movie marathons or game-day gatherings.



Foosball, arcade favorites, and oversized games make this level ideal for families or groups looking to spread out. A full bathroom, laundry room, and direct walkout access to the private hot tub and outdoor spaces ensure comfort and convenience are never far away.



Outdoor Spaces--

Step outside and take in the beauty that gives The Far View Retreat its name. The cabin’s outdoor areas are designed to make the most of every moment—whether it’s sunrise coffee, afternoon lounging, or evenings beneath the stars.



The main-level screened porch offers sweeping valley views, comfortable seating, and a peaceful place to start or end your day. The front deck features a propane grill and café-style seating—perfect for weekend brunch or dinner al fresco.



In the backyard, unwind in the private hot tub or gather around the propane fire pit. Nearby, a spacious lawn area invites friendly games and quiet moments alike, creating space for both connection and calm.



Bedrooms & Bathrooms--



🛏️ Bedroom 1 (King Bed) — Located just off the main living area, the primary bedroom features a king bed and dedicated workspace.



🛏️ Bedroom 2 (Queen Bed) — Also on the main floor, this serene guest room offers a comfortable queen bed and built-in desk space.



🛏️ Bedroom 3 (King Bed) — Tucked away on the lower level, this bedroom offers extra privacy and easy access to the game room, lower bathroom, and outdoor hot tub—ideal for guests who enjoy a little personal space.



🛁 Bathrooms — The main-level full bathroom includes a bathtub and shower; the lower-level bathroom features a walk-in shower for easy access after a soak in the hot tub or a day outdoors.



Guest Access:

Guests have access to the entire cabin excluding storage closets.

The Far View Retreat sits within a community of full-time residents, vacation home owners, and short term rentals.



Getting Around:

A vehicle is required for getting around the neighborhood and surrounding area attractions, restaurants, and other destinations.

🚗 Vehicle Access

Most of the drive to the cabin is paved, with the final short stretch and driveway consisting of well-packed gravel. For most of the year, standard 2WD vehicles can access the property without issue. During winter weather, 4WD or AWD may be recommended. We’ll notify you in advance if icy or snowy conditions are expected and share updated access guidance.



📶 Connectivity

The cabin offers high-speed WiFi suitable for streaming, remote work, and video calls. Please note that cell service may be limited in the mountains—connecting to WiFi ensures reliable communication.



🐶 Pets

We love welcoming dogs! Up to two dogs are permitted per stay; please include them in your reservation so the system can apply the pet fee automatically. Additional dogs may be considered on a case-by-case basis with an extra cleaning fee. Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) are considered pets and subject to the same policies, while service animals are always welcome—please let us know in advance so we can alert our cleaning team.

Traveling with little ones? A Pack ’n Play crib and full-sized highchair are provided to make your stay as seamless as possible.



🧯 Safety & Cleanliness

Your comfort and safety come first. All bedding—including sheets, quilts, and blankets—is washed between every reservation. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed throughout the home, and fire extinguishers are placed on each level. Flashlights and lanterns are also available in the rare event of a power outage.



🦌 Wildlife & Setting

Nestled in a mountain community surrounded by forest and open sky, you’ll likely spot deer, wild turkeys, and the occasional fox. Please note that insects and small critters can sometimes make appearances—part of the charm of a true mountain setting!
