Perfect for our short trip

The house was clean, cozy and perfect for our family. It was a short walk into town for cute shops and yummy restaurants and a short drive to Shenandoah for hiking. We had a great stay and hope to return soon!

Great location

Good location in the town, very walkable to eateries and a nice greenway. 5 min drive to the Caverns and other attractions nearby. Cozy and thought out use of the space. Pet friendly was also a huge plus.

The house was absolutely adorable. It was perfect for my weekend trip to Luray. The house is within ealking distance of some great restaurants.

Great stay with very convenient location

Our experience was really good. The house was clean and had fun games and a table tennis table. The location of the house is also very convenient with nice places to eat nearby. Shenandoah and Luray caverns are also quiet close. The checkin was very smooth and the host is also very nice.

Excellent Getaway Spot

The property was exactly as advertised. It was clean and beautifully kept, and the check-in/checkout process was a breeze. The location is walking distance to the great downtown spots and close to hiking and running trails. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and only wished it could have been longer. Definitely recommend checking this place out, and we’ll be making plans to return!

Close to everything

It was so nice to be able to go hiking and not have to drive anywhere for breakfast or after coming home. While Luray is small, there is a great coffee shop, brewery, restaurants, and more just a block away. The house was also very clean and comfortable.

Golf and hike nearby

The location of this house was perfect for our golfing/hiking getaway. 3 - 60 yr olds. Hiking at old rag, about a half hour away was awesome. Golfing at Shenvalle was awesome and nearby. There are plenty of places to get food and drink within walking distance.Ping-pong in the basement was an added bonus.

Amazing property very centrally located

Very cute property centrally located to everything! Walking distance to the cute little Main Street. Great for the caverns and the fairgrounds. The train at the back of the property was not bad it can through early afternoon and kids loved seeing it! Beautiful views of the mountains! Really a great all around place with amazing touches of home!

Cute home, walking distance to town

Our family of 5 (3 grown kids) had a nice stay, the train was very loud though which was the only negative. I could imagine it would be a thrill for little ones. The home was clean, and the comforts of coffee, soap, paper products provided by the host was very nice. The hiking was lovely despite wildfires on the first day, and Luray Caverns was a highlight of our weekend. Would definitely visit again.

Okay for a couple nights

The house is cute. It was nice having another full bathroom in the basement. Were only given one wash cloth for four people. The description did not say to bring your own so we had to run to Walmart and thankfully it is close by. I would suggest better and brighter lighting throughout the inside of the home. Hard to function at night with such low lighting. The grass was a high. We actually enjoyed the trains going by. Other than that everything was good! The town of Luray is so cute.

Great Value

Overall our stay was enjoyable. It is a good value for the accommodations and communication was excellent. Location is great for access to central Shenandoah park and several cute eateries in town. The home was sparse but had everything we needed and the ping pong table downstairs was a treat. As the listing says, the property is close to train tracks. This was not a problem for the kiddos staying at the front of the house, but it is VERY loud the back (primary) bedroom. The whole room shakes and there were 2-3 trains per night sleeping hours during our stay. The property is also close to a fire station, and we heard several loud sirens (think tornado sirens) that were startling. Obviously, not a fault of the property owners but something to consider for lighter sleepers.

Luray Great Escape Stay.

Nice little house in a quiet location. Very clean and well stocked. Sean was great with check in and check out instructions as well as letting us know that the house was ready for early check in. We didn't have any issues but based on other communication I'm sure Sean would have been just as responsive. Easy walk to the downtown shops and restaurants as well as the greenway. Luray Caverns is just a short drive. As a train buff and someone whose mother lived about 40 yards from a rail crossing the railroad tracks at the back of the property were a nice plus but can be an issue if you are a light sleeper or not used to train noise. Also, keep an eye on the little ones as there is no barrier between yard and tracks. Overall great stay. We will definitely check for this property on our next visit to Luray.

Pros: host was responsive, walking distance to shops and restaurants, spacious, pet friendly, comfortable bed, nice touches with some of the decorCons: this unit was not clean. Sticky floors, bad odor throughout unit, worse in basement. Really needs a dehumidifier. Paint peeling off the bathtub, im not sure why it was painted? Black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Dustpan didn't have a handle. Vacuum was clogged. Vents on ac in bedroom was full of fuz/dust. Spent a 100 on cleaning supplies just to get the unit tolerable. I did outreach to the host about mold and cleanliness, he said he would follow up with the cleaners but offered no compensation. They did supply shampoo and disposal etc, however all of these items were partial products, clearly having been used by others. We chose supply our own. Gazebo was cute, however was so full of spider webs and dust, so we did not use it. Also the main bedroom had 3 ac units it, I was not clear on why some rooms required multiple units. If the place was properly cleaned and mold addressed I would stay again.
