Pamlico River Retreat is a newly renovated cottage that blends rustic charm with all the comforts of home. It sleeps four guests comfortably and can accommodate up to five.

The downstairs bedroom features a queen-size bed, and the living area includes a queen-size sleeper sofa. Upstairs, you’ll find a cozy full-size bed. The bathroom includes a shower as well as a washer and dryer for your convenience.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a gas stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, and small chest freezer.

Guests can also enjoy games, books, and TVs for entertainment. On cooler evenings, the wood-burning stove adds an especially warm and inviting touch.

The charm continues outdoors with a covered patio and gas grill, perfect for relaxing or enjoying a meal outside. Bringing a boat? The circular driveway makes it easy to enter, park, and exit with a trailer.

We had every thing we needed and more for a week long stay. Hostess was amazing. She showered us with extras. Guesthouse was stocked with everything we needed. The place is obviously well loved and cared for. The bed was so comfortable and that is #1 important to us. Thank you Phyllis for helping us feel at home away from home.

Our stay at Pamlico River Retreat was wonderful. The cottage was cozy and comfortable. We loved the location because it’s close to everything. We appreciated the snacks, toiletries and beverages that were provided. The highlight was the rear outdoor covered patio. The furniture and decorations made the space feel very welcoming. Phyllis was an excellent host making sure our needs were met and provided snacks and a push bike for our toddler. We will definitely be back!

Excellent property and experience all around! Phyllis really goes out her way to ensure that travellers feel comfortable and taken care of. The snacks, drinks, and amenities are the best at any VRBO I have ever stayed in, including larger and much more expensive properties! Pamlico Place was a nice place to stay. It’s amazing how many little touches Phyllis has done to the place, plus free drinks in the refrigerator and snacks on the counter really was a blessing. She thinks of everything like bug spray near the back door and toothpaste and other toiletries in the bathroom in case the traveler forgot something. That’s a thoughtful and thinking host. We loved the rustic feel (like an up north cabin) while enjoying all modern amenities. Super clean, very comfortable bed and due to the colder temps, we liked having the heating element in the bathroom.

One of the nicest VRBO's I've stayed in. Very nicely decorated. Definitely, the most well stocked with waters, snacks, etc. Great back patio. Plenty of parking. Close to downtown. Would definitely stay here again.

This cottage was absolutly adorable and Miss Phyllis was awesome. She had snacks, refrigerator stocked with drinks and everything you could think of. We will definately be regular visitors when in town.

Wonderful stay at Pamlico River Retreat

We really enjoyed staying at the little cottage over the July 4th weekend. Little touches like provided snacks and plentiful chilled water were very nice. The exterior patio was a welcome place to sit at night. The downtown was a little far for us to walk to but could be convenient with a bike ride. Cozy and Clean!!!

Phyllis was a great host and very accommodating. Everything was so clean and she had goodies waiting for us when we arrived! Phyllis provided everything so we didn’t even need anything. We loved hanging out on the back patio, so nice just to sit and relax! Plenty of room to park our boat which was an added bonus! We will definitely be back to stay again!

Washington NC short vacation

Phyllis was a great host, and the property was immaculate. The cottage was so cozy and relaxing. Everything one needed was supplied by Phyllis. Snacks, drinks, and she even had treats for our Shih Tzu. We enjoyed lounging on the back porch/patio. Overall, we had a great weekend. I would say this is the #1 rental in little Washington.

Wonderful New Property

My husband and I can’t say enough good things about this new property. It was just as it appeared online and the outside area was just as fabulous. The house was well appointed and spotless! We did not bring our boat this trip but it will be a perfect location for parking a truck/boat trailer. The property is so close to the waterfront area and it easy to drive over for the shops and restaurants. We would highly recommend this property!

Wonderful Host!

My elderly Mom resides in Washington. My husband and planned a trip to see her. As a last minute add on, we included our 20 month old granddaughter on the trip! We needed a comfortable place and we found it! Phyllis has the best, sweetest, most well appointed little home we could have ever asked for. After a 9 hour drive, we pulled in, and Phyllis provided wine, water, multiple snacks, as well as little treats for our granddaughter. What a wonderful place. It is clean, quiet and perfectly supplied with everything you need. We will definitely be back!

Lovely cottage

Phyllis is a delightful host who thinks of everything. We were there for our daughter’s graduation from ECU. The back patio was the perfect place to host a family cookout and Phyllis was fine with that. The patio has a grill, games, plenty of seating and the backdrop of beautiful flowers everywhere! The attention to detail is remarkable. 2 couples stayed in the house comfortably. The kitchen is well stocked. We walked to downtown and loved downtown! Rest and healing

There are so many things to say about Phyllis and her adorable cottage. I’ll start with how friendly she is…while being respectful of her guest’s privacy. She makes certain you have everything you need…and more. You can expect the most delicious, elegant pastries waiting for your arrival. The towels are huge, soft, and plentiful. The bed is comfortable. The fridge is full of a variety of cold drinks. And we were there for 2 weeks so the washer/dryer, dishwasher, and stove were extremely helpful. Her patio is spacious and relaxing (we loved hanging out with the local wildlife). And finally, her place is close to everything we like to do: restaurants, nature walks, and the wharf area. We had a terrific time!! Thank you Phyllis!
