The Blue Heron Retreat has four rental units that all boast of their lake views, The Blue Heron Suite, Fisherman’s Cove, and Sunrise Suite are all attached to the main lodging. The Eagles Nest is a separate cabin overlooking the water. We have a number of amenities and common spaces on our property that are available for all guests including kayaks, paddle boat, hot tubs, fire pit, and our new Grotto. We also have pontoons for rent during the peak season.

If our retreat appears to be booked over the dates you are interested in, please send us an inquiry. There may be a combination of individual units available for rent.

an all-sports lake in the Manistee National Forest: Where the water is spring-fed and crystal clear. It is the perfect location to get away! Immerse yourself in the history and tranquility of simpler times while still having access to modern amenities. If you are looking for a place to connect with nature and with those you love, come on over. The swimming, fishing, star-gazing and water sports are exceptional, and the hot tub is ready for relaxing.

The Blue Heron Suite:
Enjoy a one-of-a-kind stay in the historic Blue Heron Suite. Immerse yourself in the experience by learning the history of Diamond Lake, documented artistically throughout the unit. Features a private deck for capturing the sunrise or watching the action out on the lake. Large suite includes beautiful Amish-made cedar and pine furniture. Kitchenette and dining table included in room. Large private bathroom with walk-in shower.

Sunrise Suite:
This beauty is named for its incredible sunrise views over Diamond Lake. It is our newest addition to the Blue Heron Retreat. Feel nature all around you when you step into this cozy space for two. Suite includes kitchenette. Just outside your sliding door is a view from your private deck of Diamond Lake and only steps away is a courtyard with hot tub.

The Eagles Nest:
Enjoy the sunrise as you sip your morning beverage on one of your two private decks. This multi-level cottage includes a full kitchen with dining table, and two bathrooms with showers; both the upstairs and downstairs have a living space with TV. Upstairs includes a double bed in the bedroom, and a futon in the living room. Downstairs includes a queen, double and twin bed.

Fisherman's Cove:
Fisherman's Cove at Blue Heron Retreat is a lake lovers' dream with sunrise views from your private patio and yard space. The living room has a pull-out couch.
