Lakefront Cottage on Serene Lake Becky

From the moment you walk in the front door of our completely restored 1967 lakefront cottage, you can see the lake all the way across the entire room, as if you were floating on it! In the middle of your lake view is the boathouse covered deck with a walkway across the sloping green lawn down to the water!!

Enjoy hanging out with family or friends on this covered deck right on the water, with plenty of seating, tables, rugs, a grill, and a small streaming flat screen TV! Below the deck is the dock where you can fish, swim, or sun yourself...afterwards you might want to try out the 3-person canoe, followed by a night time firepit on the lawn with chairs right next to the water, with s'mores...all while you enjoy the gorgeous white lights all over the boathouse deck and walkway!!

This adorable cottage has a well appointed kitchen, livingroom, diningroom, and mudroom, plus an extra sitting area...ALL of this lakeview! Enjoy the streaming flat screen TV or watch DVDs, or enjoy books from the mudroom while you lounge in the extra sitting area. Enjoy prepping/cooking a meal in the well stocked kitchen, then have a lovely dinner in the diningroom next to the water!!

Off this main area, you'll find the King bedroom overlooking the lake, the Queen bedroom overlooking the hillside and front driveway, a large bathroom with 2 sinks, a toilet, and a shower/tub combo, as well as a stackable washer/dryer. Off the living space is also a small bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower stall. ALL sheets/towels provided!

A staircase off the small bathroom leads up to the 2 Twin loft bedroom to the right, which overlooks the living space and has lake views from the window...or you can go straight up the stairs into the gameroom that has a large picture window with a bar that overlooks the lake! In the gameroom you can enjoy the chess table, the small Foosball table, magnetic darts, cards and board games, Wii video games, or watch the flat screen streaming TV!! The gameroom also has a door out to the front driveway, with a deck worthy of the view of the front yard, and the farm across the street.

Disappointing and unfair experience. From day one, a strong sewage odor filled the home. The host claimed the septic issue had been fixed, but the plumber only came Tuesday night. That same evening, a leak started, and the smell never left.From Tuesday to Friday, we had no water. When it returned, it was only cold — the plumber hadn’t restored hot water. That’s why the washer didn’t work. She now charges us 300 for 4 “inspections” we never requested.On Friday, both toilets and the shower failed — proof the septic issue was never fixed. We weren’t even home that day. Toilets worked when we left, yet she now blames us and charges 750.She also ironically complains we used “all the toilet paper and paper towels” she provided. We’re a family of five, staying seven full days… Two rolls weren’t enough — we had to buy more ourselves.Beds weren’t made, just a pile of sheets. One old sponge was in the sink. The mezzanine she calls a sleeping area was suffocatingly hot and unlivable — kids had to sleep on the game room floor.Despite promising a refund, she sent us a 1050 plumber bill instead. Please think twice before renting from a host who treats guests this way.

Peaceful and quiet - easy lake access

My wife and I just stayed at this property for our anniversary. She has a bad knee and a lot of lake properties require walks down a steep hill or long stairways. This place has a boathouse patio on the same level of the house! Worked great for us! The house layout is a bit funky - if you have more than 4 guests you'd want to check it out. But very clean, had everything we needed - and the host was extremely responsive and helpful. We hope to return!

Great stay!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Even though the lake was down due to the hurricane, we still enjoyed a fire in the fire pit and watching some football on the streaming tvs. The house was very clean. Liked the mini splits in the rooms so we could each control the temperature in the bedroom for our preference. Owner was very responsive to questions. Would definitely recommend!

Great Lake House

We had a wonderful time on Lake Becky. The lake was prettier and cleaner than I imagined it would be. The swimming and fishing was lots of fun. I recommend that guests bring extra beach towels (as we did) if you plan on swimming. The house had just about all we needed and was well stocked and organized. A return trip is likely.

Lakefront Vacation

There were three generations and we all had a great time. The house was comfortable, cozy and exceptionally clean. The upstairs game room is an added bonus to enjoy. Relaxing on the upper deck, swimmimg, fishing, canoeing, smores by the fire was all a part of our family making great memories.

Great cozy mountain lake house

We really enjoyed our stay. Nice, peaceful, tranquil. Blue Ridge and waterfalls are close by. The lake was awesome for kayaking and paddling. Didn't catch big fish from the lake, but bought some nightcrawlers and caught a few small ones from right under the dock - the kids were extremely happy. Surprisingly, there were almost no mosquitoes in the evenings, so we were able to stay until it got completely dark. And in the house, we had everything we need. The communication with the owners was great too. Really nice place. We will definitely come back!

NO FISH

Unaware of uneven floor before coming, very dangerous even with little signs on floor. Fished day and night using ALL kinds of bait and only caught 4 small fish and a baby turtle ALL week no other even nibbles. 5 tvs and took FOREVER to get anything to stream not enjoyable. Couldn’t use lights at night because bugs immune to all sprays and candles. Since no address beforehand didn’t know 25+ min from anywhere and no deliveries.

BEWARE

Our 2 day stay was wonderful. We had authorization for a 5:00 pm checkout on Sunday and the Host "didn't remember". She called the police to ask us to leave because we were trespassing. Our friends left 2 books there in a rush to leave. Host blamed this on Venmo and took no accountability. We were not given an apology or any accommodation.

Spring Vacation

We enjoyed our visit, especially the use of the canoe. The lake house is exactly as described and the location is great. We visited several waterfalls and hiked trails at several area parks. Recommend this rental for a SLOW TRAVEL vacation that is geared towards relaxing and enjoying the great outdoors.

Lake vacation

The Lakehouse is comfortable. My kids had a great time swimming in the lake, fishing, and canoeing. One of the best things to do is to visit Issaqueena Falls (waterfall) about 10 minutes away. We enjoyed really good pizza at Carolina Pizza Company in Walhalla, and the drive to Clemson was reasonable too. My kids enjoyed playing the Wii and fusball, and the campfire by the lake was reallly nice. The kids loved making Smores in the evening.

Amazing

Best Thanksgiving ever! The house has everything you need, we cooked an entire Thanksgiving meal here for 5 people. The lake is stunning, beds soft and location is superb! The views on the way to the cabin were amazing. We love a small town and this location will certainly give you all the small town cozy vibes. We would love to stay again!

Great view

This property is Amazing and has everything that is advertised. We had plenty of room for 4 adults and a 3 year who caught his first fish from the dock. The canoe and fire pit was a plus. The owner responded quickly to a couple of questions we had. We will definitely rent this perfect getaway again.

It as a treat!

We really enjoyed our time at this property. The kitchen was well stocked, the home was clean and there was easy communication with the owners. Late Summer Fun

We had a small group of friends stay here for Labor Day weekend. Everyone loved the place as it was super comfortable. The cottage offers great views and many forms of entertainment. We enjoyed the games provided, and even had a little luck fishing the lake. We would all most certainly make a trip back!

Perfect Getaway

This property was all & more of what we expected from photos & description. It's a perfect spot with all the the coveniences of a very well kept home. It lacks nothing, nothing at all. We spent most of our time outdoors relaxing on the covered dock. We even caught a very nice largemouth bass. It was very hot, typical mid-August, but the shaded dock & air conditioned house provided great comfort. We shall return !!

Great House and Location

The house was very, very clean, well decorated and as advertised. The lake, swimming, fishing, canoe, dock, firepit, boat deck, provisions, cook ware, weather, exterior lighting, house check-in and out directions, game room, and view of the lake were also fantastic! The location is close to everything including many great hikes, Chimney Rock, other great lakes, and state parks! We plan to stay there again. Just AWESOME!!!!

Love the location!

It was a girls weekend and we had a wonderful time! The location was perfect! Love sitting out on the covered boat house in the morning and getting on our floats right from the dock to just drift around in the water.

We are both native to The Blue Ridge Mountains, and yet we never knew that such a serene, quaint, lovely, family-friendly mountain lake existed in Upstate South Carolina! With patience, love, insight, and vision we've completely restored this 1967 lakefront cottage! We've honored all the original charm of the place, while adding modern touches and conveniences that enhance this special place even more, and appointed it with special touches everywhere!!

This cottage is tucked down a long driveway, away from the road, and positioned right at lakefront with a sloping green lawn down to the shoreline! But it's not too far away to walk up the driveway to the road, or so far away that you can't enjoy the charm of the small, country farm just across the street, complete with chickens, horses, and cows!! The architecture exudes the 1960's, with the original boathouse, boathouse covered deck, and raised walkway all in tact and restored to full safety. From the moment you walk in to the front door it looks like the entire living space is just floating on water, and you have lake views from nearly every single room in the cottage!! Enjoy all the modern tech while inside or outside...whether you're out on the covered boathouse deck grilling and streaming music or movies, or fishing/swimming/sunning on the dock, or roasting s'mores on the firepit at the shoreline, or upstairs in the gameroom playing Wii. There's 5 streaming TV's in this cottage, and loads you can do! Or maybe you just want to unplug from it all and go out on the water in on our 3-person canoe and explore, or fish.
