Hummingbird Haven's rustic charm offers a private, enchanted, wooded, setting nestled on a generous cove-to-main lake lot with captivating water views!  A perfect place to kick back and relax, whether you're looking for a family vacation, off-season fishing trip, romantic couples weekend, girls trip, small group retreat, or relaxing work-from-home week away! Enjoy the splendor of main lake views with the calmness of a secluded cove--it's the best of both worlds!

This freshly renovated home is an easy drive from Raleigh/Durham, Richmond & Virginia Beach.  Located on the South West side of Lake Gaston between mile markers 14 & 15, you're just a quick boat or jet ski ride to the Eaton Ferry Bridge. Here you will find local waterfront restaurants and a marina to fuel your watercraft. You can also shoot directly across main lake to Poplar Creek, home of Poplar Pointe Marina and Shady Shack Bar & Grill just a short distance away! Grab some fuel for your watercraft, great drinks, bar food, hand-dipped icecream or pick up a souvenir at the gift shop. It's a local favorite!

Upon arrival to Hummingbird Haven, you will be welcomed by an inviting and generously sized screened porch where you will enter the home--a great gathering place for drinks, meals, games and conversation accompanied by peaceful views of the water and surrounding nature.  "Lake Life" decor is featured throughout the entire house making you feel like you are officially "on vacation!"

The main living area features an open concept floor plan with vaulted ceilings and a vast wall of windows that showcase spectacular views of the water. Modern appliances and conveniences blend seamlessly with the home's rustic charm. The kitchen features include a microwave, drip coffee maker, Keurig, crockpot, blender, toaster oven, utensils, pots, pans and serving ware. All are available for use.

The sleeping areas and bathrooms spread throughout all three floors and are outfitted with comfortable bedding and include two sets of bunkbeds. Rainy days? No worries here!--the walk-out basement is a fantastic hangout area furnished with comfy furniture, TV,  Xbox 360 Rock Band, pool table, foosball table and board games for entertainment! 

After you've settled in and become familiar with the interior of the house, take a stroll outside; it only gets better!! The upper deck will take your breath away with the beautiful sights and sounds of the peaceful cove.  Ample seating is provided for outdoor dining overlooking the water. A gas grill is provided for all you outdoor chefs!  Enjoy birdwatching with a cup of coffee or glass of wine on the large screened porch, deck or patio below.

A short and easy path will lead you beneath the shade of a few trees to a large open grassy area at the boathouse dock. Enjoy countless hours of swimming, floating, fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding. We ask that you bring enough life jackets to enjoy the fun and ensure proper sizing for your particular crew. Limited chairs, kayaks and paddles boards are provided for your enjoyment.

Bringing or renting a boat? Cleats are provided to tie off your own boat, jet ski or a rental (The boat slip is for owner use only). You will need to bring your own bumpers and lines to secure your watercraft. A private boat ramp is conveniently located next to the property for launching.

At the end of the day, wind down and relax around the firepit--AND don't forget the S'Mores! Hummingbird Haven has everything you need and more to enjoy Lake Gaston!  

SLEEPING AREAS
1. Top Floor
The top floor includes the master suite with king size bed and full size bed in the loft common area.

2. Main Floor
The main floor has two bedrooms: 1 bedroom with a queen size bed and 1 bedroom with a queen size bed and bunk bed (twin over twin)

3. Lower Floor
The lower floor has 2 sets of bunk beds (twin over twin) in a common area off of the living area.

This house is located on the Southwest side of Lake Gaston between mile markers 14-15.
Please Note: Hummingbird Haven is not available for groups larger than 14, events or parties.   
Nearest Boat Launch is next to the property OR Hawtree Landing (8 miles away).

Nearest Marina: Eaton Ferry (10 min by boat); (20 min by car)

To get you started...
The bathrooms are stocked with courtesy soaps and shampoos designed for quick "off the shelf" use.  Each bathroom has a roll of septic-friendly toilet tissue as a starter. You are encouraged to bring whatever you feel you might need beyond the courtesy items provided.

The kitchens are stocked with one roll of paper towels, one trash bag for the kitchen trashcan, trial-size dish soap, two dishwasher pods and 1 sponge.  You are encouraged to bring whatever you feel you might need beyond the courtesy items provided.

Linens Provided:  Linens are charged as a separate fee and will be available at the home, safety-sealed, at the foot of each bed.  
Towels Provided:   Each guest is provided bath towel and a washcloth as part of the linen package. Guests will find their bath towels folded on each bed. NOTE: We do not provide beach towels or dock towels!

A few more tid-bits...  :)
1.  Trained service animals are welcome!  Otherwise, we have a strict "no pets" policy.

2.  The house, like 99% of all lake homes on Lake Gaston, uses a septic system.  This system is a finely balanced biological system.  Please help us keep it working flawlessly by flushing ONLY toilet paper.  Renters are responsible for any damage caused by misuse.

3.  Bow-Riders and deep draft Wake Board boats need to check their Hummingbirds to ensure adequate depth in all coves.  Pontoons should have no issues and everyone is welcome to tie off at the dock with rental boats.(make sure to bring your bumpers!).

4.  Culverts & Bridges:  Be sure to lower your bimini top when going under bridges or through culverts.  Appearances can be deceiving!

5. Security Camera Disclosure:  We take your privacy very seriously.  However, this home is monitored by exterior security cameras.  The cameras do not record sound.  Please let us know if this is an issue with your party for any reason.
