The Black Bear Chalet:
Rest, Relaxation and Enjoyment!!! You won't be roughing it in this gorgeous mountaintop modern chalet / cabin located in 'The Woods' Resort Country Club with 36 hole Golf course, Spa, Gym, indoor/outdoor pool, Restaurant, Pickleball Courts, Tennis Courts, Hiking, Fishing, Nature and some great nighttime Star Gazing. This 5 Star cabin in the woods sleeps 14. There are 6 beds in 5 Bedrooms that sleeps 11 plus there are 3 sleeping spots in loft twin daybed with pullout twin & basement couch. There and 3 full Bathrooms in the chalet.

The Chalet has a spectacular wall of windows, a cozy wood burning floor to ceiling stone Fireplace, Outdoor Firepit, Large deck with large propane grill, Screened in Porch with comfortable chairs and propane Fire Table to hang out and enjoy the outdoors, Pool Table / Ping Pong Table / Air Hockey Table, Dart Board, poker chips and 2 large smart TV's. There is a Loft area which is great space to relax with a daybed and lounge chairs. The Loft also has a dedicated Office Space with desk, monitor, keyboard, printer, etc.

All bedrooms and common spaces have ceiling fans along with heat/AC. Full house Wi-Fi + outside WI-FI provided by 3 mesh Wi-Fi routers that are located on each level of the chalet. Full amenities includes Gourmet Coffee / Tea station, Keurig coffee maker, Tea kettle, Toaster Oven, Washer/dryer, Dishwasher, Blankets, Linens & Towels are provided.

The Black Bear Chalet is in 'The Woods' Golf Resort which has 36-hole public golf course & driving range. The golf course has a great bar & restaurant with food and full bar. Access to full Spa for nails & massage is located at 'The Woods Sports Center'. Access to the Woods Sports Center amenities can be used by purchasing a $7 pass per person per day. This gives you access to all The Woods Resort amenities. Hiking trails start adjacent to the chalet and fishing is close by.

The chalet/cabin is conveniently located 20 minutes away from Berkeley Springs & 20 minutes from Hedgesville. The Chalet is adjacent (100 yards) to the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area which contains Sleep Creek Lake.

Lovely home, roomy and very suitable for a big family to stay together. The kitchen was pretty well equipped (but I would recommend replacing the large frying pan). The rooms are comfortable, the mattresses are better for those that like softer beds. It was very cold weather when we stayed (20s at night) and we were mostly fine but would be nice if we could have raised the thermostat above 72 on some nights, the bedrooms felt chilly sometimes but we just used all the extra an our own blankets. The owners are super nice and very responsive, answered us within minutes and know their property very well. The sports facilities are nice and not too far and the teenagers especially enjoyed the gym and courts.

We had such a wonderful time spending a week in this cabin! Some highlights include hiking trails very close by, cooking meals in the amazing kitchen, enjoying games with friends in the basement, a fun day out to Berkeley Springs, and time spent with friends relaxing in the cleanest, coziest cabin I've ever stayed at. We hope to return next year!

House was absolutely beautiful, and the views were truly amazing. We had a wonderful time during our stay. The home was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were fantastic communicators, ,friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire process. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would gladly stay here again!

This was such a beautiful house. There were plenty of rooms for 8 of us women to sleep comfortably. The kitchen was well appointed and we especially appreciated the coffee station as all of us ladies love our coffee!! The fireplace and the fire pit were great and the couch and swivel chair in the living room were amazingly comfortable!

The cabin is gorgeous, in a nice wooded spot. There is a great amount of space and a kitchen with just about everything you need to cook nice meals. The covered porch has a nice heater and the fire pit has a good clearing where you can relax by the fire and look at the woods and stars. The beds are very comfortable. The hosts are very accommodating and quick to respond. Had an absolute amazing time and will definitely be returning

This place isn’t just “beautiful luxury cabin in the woods” because even though there are houses nearby, you truly feel like you’re alone as you sit out on the deck, soaking in the peace and quiet. The house itself is beautiful inside, with plenty of space to gather and enjoy. We loved relaxing on the porch, spending time in the main living room, and coming together in the kitchen around the island as we cooked our meals. Every room felt private and quiet, which made for such a relaxing vacation. We took full advantage of the swimming pools, hot tub, and pickleball courts. Quite a few in our family played golf every day, and we enjoyed a wonderful spa experience. We also spent a lovely day exploring Berkeley Springs. Wonderful place to relax and be with family.

Room for all of us.

This house was as described and quite comfortable. All beds were comfy, great screened in porch. TV, games, pool and airhocky so great for kids.Overall simply lovely. A few minor cons: Dinning table for 6 so eating ALL together was a challenged, 4 stools at the island works. Dishes for 8 yet house sleeps 14so running the dishwasher often, we were 10. 1 towel per person so if you like more pack some. Pool towels not provided plus pool pass upcharge is 7 per person per day.

Great house in a beautiful location!

We loved our short stay in June! The house was well equipped and had everything we needed. The beds were SO comfy! It is about 25 min. to the closest grocery store and restaurants (other than the restaurant on site which was perfect!) We would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing long week end

We arrived on Wednesday evening and departed on Sunday morning The amenities of the gold course that we partook in were pickle ball and the swimming pool. We visited Berkley Springs, had breakfast at Charlotte's Cafe and visited the park and small shops. We drove to Martinsburg one evening to have dinner at a very nice restaurant located in a golf course. We drove to Harpers Ferry one day and that was very nice to see. Our house was well stocked with everything we needed. The porches were nice relaxing spots. Our grandchildren liked the downstairs game room. The owner was super available to answer any questions we had.

Fantastic Get Away in the Wilds of West Virginia

The experience we had at the chalet could not have been better. The chalet has the most comfortable, welcoming vibe I've ever experienced in a rental. From the comfy couches and beds to the well stocked game room and firepit everyone found a favorite spot to relax.The golfers in our group greatly enjoyed playing a different type of course than they were used to (there are not many hills where we live) and the pool/spa people had a great time enjoying the sports center. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, the hosts communicate quickly and ensured our time was fun. We felt right at home and didn't want to leave. The wildlife was plentiful and gave us an authentic West Virginia experience. If you are considering staying here (and can find an open spot) just do it! You will love it.

The home was beautiful. Loaded with amenities. The cleanest VRBO I've ever stayed at. The beds were very comfortable! They thought of everything you would need if you were away from home. They didn't skimp on the rolls of TP or Paper towels or almost anything else you might need. Highly recommend!

Spent the long weekend with 8 friends at this amazingly comfortable property. All the details have been thought of. Had a power outage due to wind but there were loads of flashlights and the fireplace kept us warm. All had a wonderful time!
