Gemütliche, 2000 m² große Hütte für 6-7 Personen: große Küche, Esszimmer und ein tolles Zimmer. Genial für Familien. Wir haben kostenloses DSL-Internet und Kabelfernsehen !!! Sie werden von dieser schönen Hütte mit Privatsphäre und einfachem Zugang zu nahe gelegenen Sehenswürdigkeiten nicht enttäuscht sein!

Unser Haus hat ein warmes, komfortables, offenes Gefühl mit viel Platz zum Kochen, Essen, Spielen, Anschauen von DVDs, Lesen und Entspannen. Es gibt mehrere Versammlungsbereiche, sodass mehrere Aktivitäten gleichzeitig stattfinden können. Es gibt eine überdachte Veranda mit einem Esstisch und Stühlen im Innenhof - ideal für Regentage, Brettspiele oder um sich ein wenig vom Rest Ihrer Gruppe abzuheben. Es gibt einen zweiten Esstisch und Stühle auf dem großen Achterdeck mit Blick auf das Tal und die Berge.

Amazing retreat

From the isolated (and fun) drive up Chipmunk Lane to the amazing view and the surrounding property to explore, we had a fantastic time. Our kids, their cousins, and our dog loved hiking through the woods around the property and evenings sitting by the fire. The house is spacious and well appointed--a big deal since we had 5 kids with us. The owners were communicative and accommodating--excellent hosts. We would happily recommend it and rent again ourselves.

Excellent weekend!

My family and I had an excellent long weekend at the Highridge House. The cabin is in a great location, literally minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and really felt like a home away from home. The owner John was great to work with and very helpful throughout. The driveway was steep but level and in good shape. I've definitely driven on *MUCH* worse roads in the Boone area. We're really into birding and saw multiple species of warblers within several feet of the cabin!

Beautiful Mountain Retreat - Pet Friendly

Couldn’t ask for a better mountain rental. Property was very clean and the check in process was excellent. Communication with property owner was outstanding with quick responses! Large home with plenty of space and seating. Although I chose not to cook for our short stay the kitchen was exceptionally equipped with drawers and cabinets labeled for easy access. I would have really appreciated all the spices, cooking oils, condiments etc for our use had I made any meals. If you have a dog don’t pass this one up as our nine year old dog enjoyed spending his time too relaxing on large back deck!

Beautiful Retreat

Husband and I wanted to escape the Florida heat, so headed to North Carolina. After a heart-in-your-throat initial climb up the very steep and winding driveway, arrived at Highridge House. Immediately impressed with the kitchen/living/dining room open, homey feel. The view from the rear deck, the sounds of wildlife, smell of pine and rain were relaxing. We cooked every night, and this kitchen was the best stocked I have ever had at a rental property. Lots of kitchen stables (spices, syrup, other non perishables) available. We toured the WJ farmers market, drove the Parkway, spent a day in Boone and found some very cool places to eat. Attended service at a local church, and saw the frescoes of Ben Long in Holy Trinity and St. Mary's Churches. Mostly we played cards/games with our house guests, and relaxed on the deck. John was wonderful to work with, answering each inquiry promptly. And he has a great list of local attractions/restaurants to share. High recommendation for this property.

The property was wonderful and extremely peaceful. If you’re looking to get away to peace and quiet this is it. The driveway can appear a little intimidating for some but it’s honestly not that bad. If we’re back in the area, we will stay here again if it is available.

Relaxing weekend getaway

We loved the peaceful surroundings, deck, and large open mountain home. The house is very well equipped with a full kitchen, games, washer & dryer, walking sticks, etc. Unfortunately, the WiFi and cell service was a bit spotty during our stay but the owner let us know in advance and was actively working on it. The one feature not fully explained in the listing is the very steep, gravel driveway that you have to navigate to get to the home. The owner told us all about it after we booked and we were able to negotiate it with an AWD vehicle, it’s something to be aware of (especially in bad weather). We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the house and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet getaway.

Great stay close to App State!

My family all came up to help to move a student to App State, and we picked this cabin because it was one level. The cabin was great, no neighbors around, beautiful landscaping, and extremely peaceful. Great communication with host was a plus. Highly recommend.

Christmas in the Clouds

There is a reason that Highridge House has all 5-star reviews! From the moment we climbed the driveway, to walking in the front door to the warm, inviting pine walls and ceiling, to the view of our own private mountain, we felt like we were "home." I cannot begin to say enough wonderful things about this property, and it's host/s. We have rented several Vrbo's in the past, but this one has exceeded them all, due to the fact that this is not "just another rental property." This is John's (& Nancy) second home that they let us "borrow" for the holidays, and made sure that we felt right at home. It was a nice change to deal with the owners, rather than a property manager, especially John's detailed check in/out list and Host Favorites, which covered everything, including tips for getting up the driveway. You can't have the view without the climb, and it was worth it! Every room was decorated for Christmas, including a large beautiful tree that was the perfect "host" for all of our gifts. The mantle was beautifully decorated with lights, garland and a large wreath; the perfect backdrop for our family photo. The spacious kitchen with the sit-around island was a dream with every cabinet labeled and organized to cook our holiday meals. The huge stone fireplace was one of our favorite places to gather, especially since the weather did not cooperate, and we weren't able to appreciate the views from the deck. It was a memorable Christmas with family; one we will cherish forever!

Great Weekend Getaway House

This house is spacious and comfortable for our family for our trip this weekend. VERY glad we got a car with 4WD as the driveway is steep and tough to navigate. The view from back patio was amazing. John did a great job with his communications for the weekend and was so helpful and available if we needed anything.
