Built in 1888, this downtown, Italianate-styled home is one of only a few examples left standing in Denver's historic, La Alma neighborhood. This historic home was tastefully remodeled just a few years ago, using warm inviting finishes, modern amenities and thoughtful touches throughout the two-story layout. The home is located on a quiet street, and provides beautiful views of both the Rocky Mountains and the downtown skyline.
The La Alma neighborhood was designated a Cultural Historic District in 2021, and is one of only two historic neighborhoods to be classified as such. The community was home to some of Denver's most inspiring people who also designed many of the homes found throughout the area. Today, the community is bustling and continues to thrive providing an anchor to Denver's Art's District on Santa Fe, an area known for its galleries, breweries, shops and restaurants as well as the new home of the Colorado Ballet. The neighborhood is connected by clearly marked paths and bike-friendly streets which make for a short walk or ride to the heart of downtown. There you can discover the many shops and restaurants along Denver's 16th Street Mall, the Theater District and Convention Center, as well as access to the Capitol and Museum District in the Golden Triangle.
The home provides three full bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen with seating for nine, as well as a professionally landscaped and covered outdoor area perfect for entertaining. All bedrooms are on the upper level, and there is a convertible couch and full bathroom with walk-in shower located on the main floor, located adjacent to the office and additional guest area. The office area is open and spacious with two skylights as well as having a Smart TV, business class Xfinity Internet, a comfy couch and a few acoustic guitars for your entertainment.
The Castle's location couldn't be better! Other attractions close by include Union Station, Meow Wolf. The Auraria RTD light rail station is a block away, easily connecting travelers to all that surrounds the city. As nightfall approaches, the city's night views come to life from the semi-circular living and master bedroom area. The outdoor covered patio is cozy and comfortable for entertaining, and there's a built-in, stainless steel gas grill, outdoor fireplace and a sitting area to enjoy the cool Colorado evenings. Up top, you'll find a walk-out deck off the west facing bedroom, with a sitting area and spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains.
For those who love to get out and exercise, you'll love the miles and miles of outdoor bike and running paths two blocks away along the Speer Bike & Walking Path, and when it's time to stock the kitchen, the local grocery is just around the corner.
We look forward to hosting you and making your stay a memorable one while visiting Denver!
