Wonderful location - Poor Condition

The location is wonderful. Literally across the street from the beach. And from the picture I expected the house to be dated, which is was. However, the pictures were misleading. The cleaning crew did not do a great job with dirt in corners, hair on the bed and random socks under furniture along with sand left in the shower pan. Safety was also a concern with daisy chained outlets, a loose wire behind a gas fire heater, and a hole in the downstairs bathroom ceiling. Overall it needed many repairs including half off drawer pulls, a missing drawer leaving a hole in the kitchen, the previous mentioned hole in the ceiling cause by the upstairs shower leaking.l and a door handle that came off in my hand. These are examples of the issues we found. When I pointed them out I was offered a late checkout which I did take advantage of. However, when I requested a discount VBRO was unable to assist and the management company and owner ignored me and did not respond. When I asked VBRO if this was an acceptable property to be listed with them they responded by saying that these are minor issues, easily fixed by the owner. However, there was no indication they would do any follow up to ensure the repairs are done. With issue after issue found, it simply became something we had to laugh about so we could enjoy our vacation.
