We stayed in early August 2026. Shasta Lake was goign through a major heat wave then. The pool was the only respite! The house itself was beautiful. It could have been stocked better with basic necessities like salt. The appliances were a little outdated but functional. The above ground pool was safe.. especially for little kids. The game room is in the garage which does not have AC. So it got incredibly hot owing to the heat wave.. but that still didnt stop my kids from enjoying the vintage nintendo. All in all, we had a very good time and would definitely consider staying there again.

Comfortable, clean house with great communication. This is our second time staying at this property & enjoyed the open space and peace and quiet. It’s very close to the lake and has boat parking on the street. We did not use the pool or hot tub since we were on the lake every day… but both amenities were clean and inviting. I highly recommend this property for a family getaway.

We enjoyed our stay at kokanee kottage. The home was comfy and clean! The pool was so relaxing, refreshing, and the water was very clean and maintained. We appreciated the hosts and their kindness and understanding. It definitely felt like they were hosts and not just people who were renting their property out. They communicated quickly and clearly. Definitely recommend this place if you are staying in the Redding area.

The house was nicely laid out with plenty of room. The swimming pool was lovely. There were plenty of beach towels and bath robes. The kitchen had all the dishes, pots & pans, and most everything we needed. We didn't use the dishwasher, but many of the dishes in the cabinet were dirty, so perhaps the dishwasher is not working too well. The big outside table is damaged on one end. The front door locks automatically which caused us to be locked out while we were bringing our stuff into the house. A sign on the inside of the door warning about the locking door would be helpful. The biggest problem was that the host did not give us the code to get into the house until after 9 pm the night before of arrival. That was quite nerve-wracking.

The communication with the host was top notch. They were available at all times. The hot tub was wonderful after biking all day. The home itself was in a nice, quiet and private location. We enjoyed the trees and the screened in porch dining. Although minimal, the kitchen had needed items. Bedrooms were very nice; however one had a much smaller bed, which we thought was to be a king when we rented. The place was very clean and the piano was wonderful for my daughter to play. It was locked, but with immediacy, became available by the hosts for us to operate. The picture of the pool was not real telling. It is located a bit from the home, although my family truly enjoyed it. Nice place, quiet, good family visit.

The property is older, but clean and it was nice having a lot of things labeled - easy to find and easy to put away. There were a lot of little small things that really needed repaired or replaced in the house. For example, the master bath shower door didn’t latch. We had to use a washcloth to try to wedge it closed. There were also several lightbulbs burnt out and in one spot the carpet was coming away from the tact’s creating a trip hazard. The dishwasher was also in desperate need of being cleaned.The master bedroom bed was incredibly comfortable. I slept very well during our stay. While, somethings in the kitchen were well stocked other things such as silverware (for example only one butter knife in the entire house) were lacking. The playroom was a great addition unfortunately the air hockey table has seen better days several functionalities on it were broken and also a lot of broken plastic on top where it was easy to scrape your hands and arms while playing.

House and Rooms were clean and a good setup for adults. It had a game room for kids including a PlayStation type of video game system. Open kitchen and front room were great for socializing. It's advertised as secluded and it is, except there is a separate house right next to this one on the property. We never or heard saw the tenants there so they were very quiet and respectful but it isn't totally isolated. I would stay here again, It had all amenities although we never used the pool or the TV, Hot tub worked perfect.

The pool was not clean, the entire house smelled of dog urine. The table on the back porch was very unsafe, falling apart. The rug in the living room is a trip hazard, curled up on both sides. Fans in bathrooms didn’t work.

This place was perfect for our girlfriend annual getaway ..Close to tShasta lake & Redding .. Home was wonderful.. had everything for having fun without leaving the property! (Pool, Hot tub, game room , screened in porch , even lil white robes ! Kitchen had everything.. email beautiful dinners and we made lots of crafts there lots of memories made Our only complaints are that the carpet needs replacing soon..Quite worn & used.. We may have gotten some flea bites from master bedroom. got few bites on our lower legs..??Main bathroom bathtub faucet needs to be replaced ..super hard to shut off for us ladies.. place could use a good deep cleaning.. BUT with that being said, we would stay there again. Had a good time in the home and out of the home , screened in porch for card games , the POOL and hot tub.. beautiful home and property .. We recommend it

Lovely home. Overdue for some upgrades (carpet is old), but all-in-all a nice stay. We did have to pick up some juice drink straw wrappers that were left behind when we arrived...also hot tub not working, but we weren't going to use it anyway. My grandson had the time of his life in the pool! We rented this house for privacy, found out the first day of our stay that there is a renter on the property. The renters did not bother us, but it would have been nice to know it is a shared property. They do not have access to the amenities shown, so that was a plus. The renters did not create any issues at all and we did have a very pleasant stay. They cap the thermostat at 75 degrees - if you want it cooler they will provide info on what to do.

Shasta 7 day stay

Though we like the fact we had 2 acres to stay on, and a quiet neighborhood all the amenities were not functional. We could not access the front door, after the first Night. We had to get the owners to remotely let us in. They gave us the code to access the house through the garage, but the door going from the kitchen to the garage fell off.(we could obviously not lock it after that) The owners offered to send a handyman, but since we could not be there when he was coming we declined. The last night we stayed, the front door would not lock either, It is a older house but not in the best of shape. The pool sweep did not work, pool was somewhat dirty, we did not use it. There were other things but no need to go any further. The owners did give back 100, but hardly enough to justify the issues we encountered. The owners offered to give us a 25% discount for future stay, we will decline the offer. Do not feel that it was worth the money. Made the vacation difficult to relax.

Fleas, lies, and not so many butterflies

We were incredibly disappointed with our stay at this rental. Shortly after arriving, we discovered the property had fleas, which completely derailed our vacation. Instead of relaxing, we spent the majority of our time cleaning, vacuuming, and trying to avoid getting bitten.We reached out to the owner, who initially promised to “make things right.” Unfortunately, that promise fell flat—we were only refunded 125, which doesn’t begin to cover the inconvenience and discomfort we endured. To add insult to injury, they offered us 20% off a future stay—as if we’d ever return after such an experience.We expect basic cleanliness and hygiene from any vacation rental, and this one failed on both counts. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere.

Our quality control & efforts to provide a safe & comfortable environment for our guests is a top priority. Thank you so much for letting us know that there were fleas present. Being exposed to fleas is a risk we take when offering a pet friendly rental. For all guest sake, Part of our proactive process we have monthly pest servicing, Bi-monthly carpet cleaning and professionally cleaned between guests. All which had been recently done prior to this guests stay. We understand that this guest were also spending every day (with pet) at the local rodeo which tends to be a flea infested environment. Because we can never predict where fleas may hitchhike from we try to be as responsive as possible as soon as learning of any fleas inside the home. Our home was professionally serviced within 48 hours of this guest notification. In addition to our imidiate response (within hours) Because the Influx of fleas caused this guest stay to be less than expected, we also provided a $125 credit for things like pet flea treatment as an unexpected cost. I am sure the pets flea treatment served well at the Rodeo grounds as well. Grateful this guest was proactive to let us know as soon as they realized it was an issue. The offer to this guest for 20% their next stay was in effort to promote that this is not an ongoing issue. A invitation for a “do over”. Relaxing and spacious

The host was understanding and helpful, the home is well appointed and it was lovely soaking at night. We made the mistake of thinking we were booking closer to Mount Shasta so had long drives since it was a ski trip, so next time we will be more careful. It was a good spot for family and friends to cook together and relax in a comfortable neighborhood and spacious home. Thank you!

Good house and location for group trip

The location and size of the house was great. There are many toys and activities for all ages. It was close to Shasta Lake, Caverns, hiking, and Redding. There fires and smoke in area, but this is not the fault of the hosts. Just bad luck. I would come here again.

Great location for boating week on Shasta

We were a family of 8, 4 adults and 4 kids. We had plenty of space and the house was well stocked with all of the amenities. We brought our boat and ended up parking on the street, it felt safe and fine. Great location to Centimudi boat launch (10 minutes door to door). Lovely hilly community.
