North Star ist ein viktorianisches Haus im Gaslichtviertel von Petoskey, Michigan, das im National Register of Historic Places eingetragen ist.

Dieses 2400 Quadratmeter große Haus wurde 1920 mit einer riesigen Veranda und schönen Holzarbeiten gebaut. Die zweite Etage imitiert die erste und bietet eine eigene Küche, ein Ess- und Wohnzimmer sowie zwei Schlafzimmer und ein Badezimmer. Sie eignet sich daher ideal für mehrere Familien. Darüber hinaus wurde der Dachboden zu einem Kinderbereich mit Fernseher, Futons und Spielen ausgebaut. Um Ihren Aufenthalt noch einfacher zu gestalten, haben Sie Zugang zu Wäschemöglichkeiten im Keller.

Spazieren Sie entlang des Flusses, zur Uferpromenade und durch das Einkaufsviertel, um einzigartige Fundstücke und Restaurants zu finden. Verbringen Sie Ihre Tage mit erstklassigem Skifahren, Rodeln und Eislaufen im Winter oder Schwimmen, Golfspielen, Bootfahren, Kanufahren, Radfahren, Angeln, Wandern und vielem mehr im Sommer. Es gibt auch ein Weltklasse-Casino, Odawa, nur ein paar Meilen entfernt zum Spielen, Essen und Einkaufen.

We enjoyed shopping in charlevoix and harbor springs and drives to see the fall colors. We walked into petoskey to shop and eat. We also enjoyed morning hikes in the bear creek trail accessible very close to the house.

Loved the house and enjoyed our stay

This house is great! It's a great location, walking distance to downtown, but on a nice quiet street. The house itself is huge- we had plenty of room. It's an old house but well-kept and very charming inside. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again next time we come to Petoskey!

Comfortable home and great location. We walked to downtown petoskey several times. Shopped and ate in petoskey, charlevoix and harbor springs. Easy drive from this location. Visited winery and took bike rides to enjoy fall colors.

Great house for our crew

This is a beautiful, historic home with lots of space for a larger group. It's right above the Bear River and a couple of blocks away from downtown. It was immaculate when we arrived and it's an airy, bright home with a wonderful front porch and a private backyard. We were very comfortable and hope to return.

Great family dtay

In town for son’s wedding, has three other children (adult) spouses and two grandsons. So clean, so roomy, so close to town. DIL and I walked the baby to town each morning so as to not bother the others. Worked out great.

Great location to town

We had a great trip. House was nice. Lots of fans to keep us cool….no ac unit. Was a bit disappointed that check in was 6pm and had to wait down the street till 7:55 as the cleaner was still in the house.

This house is huge!

We took a family vacation with seven adults and 7 kids. This house has more than enough room for a group our size. The kids loved the third floor room with games, movies, etc. The parents loved that we couldn't hear them up there The house is in a great location, everything is walkable with great trails, shopping and food. We would definitely stay here again!

Charming Petoskey Home Retreat

Every year a group of ladies that knew each other since elementary school or who became friends during high school and some who are friends now because we all went to the same High School gather for a weekend. We were very pleased with our stay. The home is gracefully old but clean and very well maintained. We loved the front porch, the easy walk to downtown and even had a nice "camp fire" in the back yard. We would highly recommend this beautiful home for your visit to Petoskey.

Fabulous home, beautifuly decorated and very well kept - One of our favorites!

We had a lovely stay at this home. The home has such beautiful character and is so well kept. The 1920's craftsmanship added to the experience. The walk to downtown is just minutes. We enjoyed all the shops and restaurants (lots to choose from) but our favorite was Julienne Tomatos for breakfast and lunch. The lake is truely a short walk away, down the scenic river walk, and is spectacular. The summertime atmosphere was amazing yet we can't wait to go back during the winter for some skiing.

Great location. A lot of room. We needed to fix hinge on one bathroom door. No grounded electric outlets in bathrooms. Very cold when we arrived. A lot of windows were open. Had to close them and turn furnace on. Then it got too warm, so turned furnace off and used fans.

Beautiful home. Close enough to walk around town without using a car. No air conditioning and some windows don’t open so was warm at times. It would be nice to check in around 3 or 4 instead of 6. Master bedroom on first floor has no mirrors, could of used one. Would I rent again? Yes

Celebrate 50th birthday for my family and friends.

The house was amazing. Large enough so everyone felt like we had our own space. Walk to town or the take trail down to the lake. The neighbor with whom the owners share the drive way with was very overbearing. He showed up as soon as we arrived from our 8 hour drive to let us know he goes to bed at 11pm (?) He showed up numerous times during the week, with last time telling us we put the wrong items in the recycle bin (?) Do not let this deter you from staying at this amazing house. Beautiful Petoskey, Beautiful home.

Homecoming

The location worked well for us. Close to other family, playground for my grandson at the waterfront, wonderful walking area. My one suggestion would be to label/hook lock on basement door. Being unfamiliar with the house initially, we didn't know where that door went. My grandson (20 months) fell down the basement steps. By some miracle, he didn't get hurt but tramatic for all. An adult would have broken into many pieces walking through that door.

This VRBO is in an excellent location near downtown. The house is very old, but very clean. Bedrooms lack closets and dresser drawers, but lots of space the house (living rooms, dining rooms) to place suitcases and put stuff…although a but messy. Nice comfortable sofas and chairs and two TVs. Ideal for a family. Front porch to sit on and the area is quiet. This house can sleep a lot of people but one of the bedrooms (upstairs, a double bed) is extremely tall and difficult for anyone, including physically fit, to climb up into unless you are 6 feet tall. Also, check in is not until 6 pm which we thought was a bit late in the day…4 pm is acceptable, 5 pm better,,,,but 6 pm, way too late. Especially since you have to take out all trash (not a big deal), wash, dry put away all dishes (no dishwasher), strip all beds and start a load of laundry before you leave. Check out is 10 am ….not sure why check-in is so late. We discovered the coffee maker did not work on our first morning and I will have to say that we contacted the owner and they had a new coffee maker delivered that day - thank you! We did enjoy our stay and the neighbors were very nice!

Convenient location and spacious

A group of us traveled for a reunion. The house was spacious and a convenient walk to downtown Petoskey. Know that there are only two full bathrooms in the house, which presented some issues for 10 women trying to plan showers. Some of the window screens were in need of repair. I had several questions along the way, on behalf of our group, and was made to feeI that I was bothering the host based on the way she responded. Overall, we had a great time together and enjoyed the character and roominess of the house.

Beautiful Home, Great Location!

We loved our stay here! Such a beautiful home and perfect for our group. Plenty of space for everyone; loved the big dining table and Adirondack chairs in the back around the fire pit. And *fantastic* location - a short walk to everything! Downtown and Bear Trail to the waterfront. This house was perfect. Highly recommend! And hope to stay again! P.s. We met the neighbors on both sides, too - both were lovely!

Great place but overbearing neighbor

Absolutely LOVED the house and location!! Hostess was very pleasant as well. The neighbor with whom the owners share a driveway with was quite overbearing and asserted himself upon arrival (and w/out cause numerous times after). The other neighbor was very friendly and welcoming. Don't let the neighbor deter you from staying here - it truly is a great place - you can just expect to have the neighbor 'force himself' upon you. I'm sure he's well-intended but it's a bit much.

After several years in the advertising business, I stayed home with my girls until they were all in elementary school, then went back to school to get my teaching certificate. I now teach at Lake Orion High School. We have three daughters and live in Clarkston.

I grew up with a cottage in Harbor Springs, owned by my grandparents. I fell in love with the area. My husband and I decided Petoskey was a little more our speed, and spent one weekend looking at houses for sale. We fell in love with the front porch, incredible wood trim, fire place, and potential to make the attic a play space for kids. The charming kitchens - two, making having more than one family here a breeze - were a huge bonus. Add in the carriage house with a second floor, wonderful neighbors, and ability to walk everywhere, and we were sold.

Our family loves to downhill ski all winter and this location offers three world class ski hills within 15 minutes. In the summer, we stroll downtown Petoskey trying all of the quaint restaurants, sandwich shops, and of course, ice cream shops. We love walking along the Bear River and out to the lighthouse where our children will spend hours jumping from the break wall into the bay. We also enjoy biking along the Wheelway into Charlevoix for lunch, and back again.
