Thank you for booking The Chic Getaway and I’m beyond happy you enjoyed the house and the property within itself presented no issues to you. As for the location, unfortunately the aesthetics of the surrounding homes are out of my control, however the aesthetics are not to be confused with lack of safety. With the aged demographic, I presented the description as accurate as it is which is very quaint and quiet. As for the disengaged door lock, all guests have the onus of ensuring the doors are closed and locked upon exiting and the log shows the door was jammed which was indicated by a red light and beeping sound on the key pad. I understand you could have missed the red light; however the beeping sound was apparent. I do mention in the house rules to check for jammed locks at the door upon exiting to ensure the doors are engaged and locked as this can happen if the guests do not fully pull the door to closed position. As for any bar, there is a commercial building by the property that I have no dealings with and any activity at the commercial building is unknown to me as it is typically empty. If there was activity where people blocked the driveway, my wish is that you would have shared this to me at the immediate onset instead of after you decided to leave. When I checked the camera footage, the driveway was not blocked, there were cars parked in front of it. Please note The listing does state any issues beyond my control, 911 should be called. We try to ensure the property is accommodating to all guests that book our property; hence we enforce a non-smoking policy. When guests disregard this policy, smoke inside the house and leave weed clippings throughout the property, it makes it a challenge to keep the property free of uncomfortable smoking odors. Unfortunately we experienced smoking inside by Kelcee which was a total disregard for my property and compromised other guests health.
