Lake Salem Waterfront Estate - Sleeps 14

This private 7-acre property provides you with 190 feet of lakefront on the majestic 776-acre Lake Salem. With 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms there’s plenty of room for all your loved ones whether they be family or friend. The long lawn offers up lots of space for yard games and there’s a gentle slope to the water’s edge. The Main house has 4 bedrooms (3 are en suite) and 3 bathrooms and the guesthouse has two Hotel style rooms (Burke and Jay) each with full baths and a laundry off of our Burke room. Derby is located in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom (NEK) where there’s something to do in every season: skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, boating, fishing, swimming, biking. There’s lots to do nearby in Newport, Burke (home to Burke Mountain and a mountain bike haven, Jay (home of Jay Peak Skiing and their famous indoor water park), the VAST snowmobile trails can be accessed right from the property. Kayak/Swim and fish in Salem lake from the summer time dock. Hiking/Biking and all forms of outdoor activity at your feet. Montreal is within two hours and Old Quebec is less than 3 hours away. Wonderful stay in Derby!!!

We had my parents plus 3 families of four fit in this property very comfortably!!! We had so much fun and made wonderful memories!!The hosts are fantastic. If there are any issues/questions they are prompt. They even checked with us during our stay. House is well equipped with many different things (including cornhole!). There are only two tvs in the main house. One being in the basement. It didn’t matter to us because we normally were doing things and didn’t require to have it in our bedrooms. The guest house made a great place for my sister’s family. It is 2 nice sized bedrooms with bathrooms. I would highly recommend this property!!

Amazing property!

The most well-appointed home in a gorgeous location. The house is so amazing and the lake views spectacular. Brendon’s communication was impeccable and much appreciated to ensure things were going smoothly throughout our stay. The kids loved daily outings to the lake and Jay Peak was a short drive away. I highly recommend staying at this incredible home.

The perfect family getaway

Wonderful location for our family vacation with all of our kids and grandchildren. House and guesthouse were beautiful inside and out. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for the 13 of us. Loved the large kitchen and extra large dining room table for all of our family meals. Outside was gorgeous! Huge yard for outdoor activities, with direct access to the lake. We got lots of use out of the kayaks and paddle boat. Definitely one of the best homes we have stayed at!

Perfect Summer Kick Off

We loved our gorgeous weekend at this lovely comfortable estate. We had 2 families with young kids and an au pair, plenty of beds for all, we all had space to find somewhere cozy to read, and of course there was plenty of room to play! The big lawn was great for baseball, kid bike riding and outdoor games. The TV room inside connected to the back porch was fun to watch baseball and the Celtics, and to play endless board and card games available at the house. The kayaks and paddle boat were a huge hit; we took a gazillion trips out on the lake and over to the rope swing and back. The kitchen was amazing and easy to cook for us all- and we enjoyed the inside and outside large dining tables. The adults also enjoyed gravel rides from the house-- we each went out in the surrounding areas/ around the lakes for a couple hours a day. We had easy access to groceries, nearby ice cream, and fun restaurants in Newport. It was just what the doctor ordered for adventure, R&R, and family bonding. Thank you Brendon and Deann!

A Gem in the NEK

This home is spectacular! It's spacious and comfortable. The dining table can accommodate 12 guests. There is ample outdoor seating as well. The lawn is massive, allowing young children and pets ample room to play without fear of them getting too close to the water. The owner is very responsive in the event that you have a question. We would absolutely return to this gem in the NEK.closeto

NEK Sled Trip Feb 2023

Our group of five adults was really happy with this property and with our host, Brendon. Everything was as described, we arrived to a very clean home and welcomed the warmth with heat already going. We had three full size trucks with sled trailers and we had no trouble parking. The driveway and parking areas were cleared of snow. Brendon was super cool about us accessing the VAST trails directly from the property and even got us some local intel. We had planned on riding across the lake to access the VAST trails, but ultimately didn't trust the ice. No problem though, a public parking area with VAST access was just a few miles down the road. We had a great time exploring the NEK on the VAST trails and found that Newport, Derby, and surrounding towns have plenty to offer for winter power sports. We also really appreciated the flawless WiFi/Internet, the Sonos speakers, gas fireplace, and subfloor heat!! Thank you Brendon!!
