This is a cottage in the private beach community in the Primehook National Wildlife Refuge which has over 8,000 acres of untouched beauty. The community is 5 miles off Route 1 and is small and relaxed!

You can swim and fish right in front of the house; you can be on the beach at anytime (sleep on it if you like) and may have a bonfire in the evening if it's not too windy! As mentioned previously, we have a new patio where you can grill, eat and view the beach as well as enjoy the late afternoon breeze.

The cottage has three bedrooms but can accommodate additional sleepers via couch, sofa bed (full mattress), and air mattress (queen).

15 minutes to Milton for grocery and shopping center; 15 minutes to Lewes; 25 minutes to Rehoboth and Dewey beaches if you want shopping (outlets and small, unique stores), movies, restaurants, jet ski, bike rentals, etc.

Favorite home away from home

We’ve stayed at the cottage multiple times and love it every year! It’s a perfect spot for our family of four, including two kiddos. Sandy is a fantastic host and the property has everything you need for a relaxing week away.

The house and location were excellent and host was very accommodating. You do need to bring your own linens for the whole house which isn’t in the description . The washer/dryer is extremely loud and takes a long time and indoor shower is hard to get a “normal” temp. Outdoor shower worked great.

Thank you for your input. In over 10 years of renting, I have had only 2 “providing your own linens” issues and have since learned linens can be rented in this area. The Rental Agreement, paragraph 4, informs renters to bring theirs linens. I will try to work with any renter who has any issue! I thought we had resolved your issue. The dryer is loud - I always suggest doing laundry at bedtime with bathroom door closed or hanging items outside to dry in lieu of using the dryer. We are trying to find a better solution but as you know, the w/d area is small, which limits our choices. The hot water supply is an on-demand system and the hot is very sensitive. We are going to find a plumber on the off season to see if it can be improved. I hope all of this clarifies these issues for you.

Beautiful Beach Cottage

We had such a great stay. The cottage’s back yard is the beach, it’s so close and peaceful. The house itself is super cute and bigger than we expected. The remodeled kitchen is gorgeous with a lot of counter space and cabinets for storage. We hope to come again next summer 😊

The location couldn't have been better-peaceful, beautiful views, quiet beach and having the wildlife refuge was a bonus! Close to fun towns for shopping & restaurants. We had everything we needed. Sandy, the owner was responsive and helpful. So happy we found this place!!

Paradise!!!

Our stay was absolutely perfect in every way. The beach house is so pretty and clean. If you love to cook, the kitchen has EVERYTHING you’ll need. The beach is your backyard and we made fires on the beach every night. Everyone we talked to was super friendly! We already booked for next year and can’t wait to go back.

Enjoyed this lovely cottage.

The house is several decades old, but has been cared for and beautifully renovated. Kitchen is outstanding . . beautiful finishes, high-end appliances, and open to living/dining areas. Bath also nicely renovated. Great colors, nice art, original pine floors.

awesome, quiet location

Just got back from an amazing week at Sandy's cottage - it was great! The home was just as advertised and very clean. The new kitchen is great and having laundry right in the home was very convenient! The big TV was great when we all needed some downtime, and the location was very quiet. We enjoyed the beach out front, as well as easy excursions to Lewes, Cape Henlopen and Rehobeth. Highly recommend!

Updated and nice location

The house worked out perfect for our dogs and was located in a nice location to walk out the door to the beach. It takes a little time to get to the bigger beaches but if you want less hassle and quiet it is perfect. The house set up was perfect and everything was updated and well thought out. I highly recommend this rental.

Cozy Cottage

We enjoyed our stay! The cottage is well kept and cozy with great upgrades and a lovely new kitchen. Beach access is incredibly convenient. The patio area is perfect for outside meals and the rockers on the porch are a great place to unwind. Definitely dog friendly! Also, the host communicated clearly and responded immediately when we encountered a minor issue with an appliance.Overall a terrific place!
