Das Taylor Camp steht Familien zur Verfügung, die einen ruhigen und erholsamen Urlaub an einem der schönsten und privatesten Seen Neuenglands verbringen möchten. Tunk Lake ist 8 km lang und hat nur 12 Hütten im Süden von 2/3 des Sees. Das Taylor Camp ist perfekt für Ihren Familienurlaub. Die Hütte ist eine Blockhütte mit allen Annehmlichkeiten von zu Hause: Sat-TV / Internet, Waschmaschine / Trockner, abgeschirmte Veranda ... und vieles mehr. Besser geht es nicht! Das DownEast Magazine (Juni 2019) nannte Tunk Lake einen der 32 beliebtesten "Great Ponds" in Maine, jeder mit seinem eigenen Charakter und Charme.

Lokale Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und medizinische Einrichtungen: Ellsworth liegt etwa 30 Minuten vom Taylor Camp entfernt. Es umfasst 2 Lebensmittelgeschäftketten (Hanaford & Shaws), WalMart, Fast Food (McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Friendlys, Taco Bell usw.), ein Heimdepot, ein Krankenhaus, eine begehbare medizinische Klinik und vieles mehr.

Lage: Tunk Lake: Es gibt Schwimmen, Wandern, Mt. Klettern, Bootfahren, Angeln auf dem Tunk Lake, und da der See so wenige Kabinen hat, ist der Bootsverkehr sehr gering. Jetskis sind (gesetzlich) nicht erlaubt.

Bar Harbor ist eine wunderschöne alte Stadt in Neu-England und ein Muss. Der ACADIA NATIONAL PARK ist der einzige Nationalpark im Nordosten. Verpassen Sie nicht den Schoodic Point, der zum Acadia-Nationalpark gehört und sich direkt an der Küste im Winter Harbor befindet.

Restaurants: Es gibt viele Restaurants zwischen Tunk Lake und Ellsworth, im Winter Harbor und in Bar Harbor. Es ist für jeden etwas dabei, von allen großen Fast-Food-Ketten (in Ellsworth) bis hin zu sehr guten Restaurants.

An amazing stay!

This was our second stay at Taylor Cabin. The cabin is welcoming and comfortable, the lake views are beautiful, and we’ve never been anywhere more peaceful and secluded! We spent most of our time floating and kayaking on the lake or sitting on the dock just enjoying the picturesque views and the nighttime stars. Day trips to Winter Harbor, Bar Harbor, and Acadia were also highlights. Hope to return again in the future!

Jim's camp was more than we could have hoped for... well stocked, serene, beautiful envirnment, good communication.,, We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with our adult children and grandchildren and we were all comfortable and felt taken care of. Pristine cabin and location

We enjoyed how thoughtfully supplied the Taylor camp is. The lake is perfect for swimming and kayaking - some of the most pleasant water ever. My kids found the location a little remote since we rarely even heard another person but the adults really loved this aspect!

Family get away

Terrific restful and private escape to the beauty of nature and crystal clears waters of Tunk Lake. We loved kayaking, canoeing, and snorkeling as well as venturing over to Acadia national park for several days of hiking. The cabin was fully stocked, clean and comfortable. Beautiful Lake House

Taylor Camp is on a beautiful and quiet lake that’s really the star of the show. The house is comfortable, well laid out for a family, well equipped, and nicely kept. We especially enjoyed sitting on the screen porch and listening to the loons at night. We enjoyed our stay and hope to come back at point in the future.

Amazing vacation!

The cabin is beautiful and spacious, and has everything we could have asked for. We loved the location...very quiet and secluded, but close enough to shopping, restaurants, etc. We enjoyed canoeing, kayaking, and just relaxing at the cabin; we also made several trips to Mount Desert Island for hiking, whale watching, etc. The owner was extremely helpful, answering questions before we even booked and providing a lot of info about the cabin, the area, restaurants, etc. before we arrived. Awesome time for the whole family!

Just as wonderful as it sounds!

We just can't say enough of how wonderful this vacation home is and how much we enjoyed our stay. Everything is well cared for and designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. This is a very secluded private getaway with lots of opportunities to unwind and relax. The surrounding Bar harbor/Acadia area has a ton of outdoor hiking and sightseeing venues so you will never be bored. We look forward to another stay next year!

Great vacation

Can’t say enough good things about this property. Jim was super easygoing through the entire process. The cabin is such an awesome property, and is far away enough but still within reason to restaurants and shopping centers. Tunk Lake is so peaceful and the views from the dock are breathtaking. Anyone looking to get away to an awesome cabin in a tranquil setting this is for you. We will most certainly be coming back!!

Lovely and peaceful

Taylor Camp is the perfect spot for those seeking a serene space to enjoy the natural beauty of Maine. The house was clean and comfortable, felt roomy even for our large group, and was equipped with everything we needed - stocked kitchen, excellent laundry, games and puzzles, kayaks w/ PFDs, a grill, comfortable beds, large closets, lots of hooks for hanging things, a fabulous screened porch, and much else I'm forgetting to mention. Tunk Lake is a treasure. Great hiking nearby, and we also made several trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The owner provided great information prior to our trip and was helpful after arrival as well. We feel fortunate that we found the Taylor Camp for our family trip to Maine.

Relaxing vacation

Our family enjoyed a relaxing stay on Tunk lake. The property was roomy for our family of 5 and the location was very quiet and peaceful. We could not see any other homes from the property. We enjoyed kayaking and canoeing and hiking. Bar Harbor & Acadia National park were about 45 mins away. Jim was great and made sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.

My father built the Taylor Camp for his family in 1992 so it was not built as a typical rental property. It is only available for rental a few weeks a year in the summer and fall. Buying land on Tunk Lake is virtually impossible at any price as it is heavily protected by conservation easements.

The camp is on 15 acres and has 1,000' of shoreline. There are only about a dozen camps at the southern 2/3 of the lake so it is quiet and peaceful. The camp is well maintained which is why we have gotten such great reviews. Although it is off the beaten path, it has all the conveniences of home and is only 30 minutes from Ellsworth which has all your shopping needs.
