Great Family Getaway!
We’ve been coming to the Chelan area for 30 years, 3 generations landed at the River Roost Retreat to enjoy summer fun. The location is beautiful, quiet and 20 minutes from Lake Chelan. We brought our boat and jet ski and were able to use their 2 buoys. Why not 5 stars overall, Vacasa manages this property so you are communicating with them not the owner so there is a delay when you need something, the cabana was locked when we arrived on Friday evening and I sent a text to Vacasa asking for it to be opened, it was not opened until Monday afternoon and we checked out Wednesday morning. Also be aware the dock is shared by 3 houses there is a 2 hour per day limit, we were the only house using the dock, yet we were subjected to multiple texts from the property manager telling us to move the boat. We spent the day on the river and came back to relax before dinner and received multiple texts asking us to move our boat again, yet we were the only house using the dock! Very frustrating to communicate through a third party as we had talked to the neighbor next door and he said they weren’t using the dock and house next door is for sale. Overall great spot, but understand that everything goes through Vacasa, who was very nice to deal with but you do experience delays while they contact the owner to resolve any issue. The cabana is where all the beach chairs, games, paddle boards and bathroom are located so it was a bummer we weren’t able to use it the entire time of our stay.
