We chose this property as our first “VRBO experience” in Georgetown over a hotel while visiting our children and grandchildren because we wanted one central place where our whole family could gather comfortably from all over Texas, and prepare a few of the major meals to help limit our costs, while not burdening our kids with hosting. The home is advertised as sleeping six, so we expected it to reasonably accommodate that number.On the positive side, the property was clean, conveniently located, and we appreciated the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided in the shower. There were plenty of clean towels and wash cloths in each bathroom as well.Unfortunately, several issues negatively impacted our stay. The kitchen was clean but very sparsely stocked for a home meant to accommodate six people, with an over-abundance of pans, very limited dishes, and only a small table with four chairs. Seating overall was minimal, with just one couch and one lounger chair.More concerning were safety and maintenance issues. The front door did not close tightly, allowing daylight to shine through, and only one basic lock with the metal strike plate missing for the deadbolt. There was no secondary interior deadbolt lock. The stair treads had protruding nails that snagged our grandchildren’s socks—our two-year-old actually became stuck on the stairs because her foot couldn’t come free.The appliances were newer but the oven didn't work properly from the start.
