Our land is vast and remote and features many outdoor places to enjoy! We are a safe haven where you can experience holistic, healthy living. We are blessed with trade winds on the North Shore, so we do not need air-conditioners. Our water is provided by a well with the most delicious alkaline water from the volcanic aquifer. We offer greens from our organic food- garden, eggs, and fruits for purchase, along with our coconut water that will enhance your well-being.

We are staffed by our family and community— During check-in, we welcome our guests, show them around our beautiful property, and explain the foundations of regenerative living.

Loving reminder: you may encounter, during certain times of the season, our little nature friends such as geckos, ants, spiders, or frogs. We are chemical-free and use specially made nontoxic remedies only.

WHERE YOU'LL BE STAYING:
This popular master bedroom on the ground floor offers a spacious and private retreat with breathtaking ocean views. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook a serene pond adorned with water hyacinths and purple lilies, creating a tranquil ambiance. We are currently in the process of rejuvenating our beautiful pond. As a result, the Lotus Room may not have its usual pond view during your visit.

Open the sliding glass doors to a generous deck, perfect for sunning and meditating. Indulge in privacy indoors and outdoors with your own lounge and dining area. The room features a comfortable queen-sized bamboo bed, two cozy upholstered chairs in a corner nook, and a private bathroom with a separate shower. A large in-room closet keeps your belongings organized.

For those seeking a seamless work-from-paradise experience, a dedicated workspace with a comfortable table and chairs, high-speed fiber-optic internet, and a coffee machine in the kitchen are provided. The room is elegantly decorated in soft moss green, complemented by energy-efficient curtains that offer privacy and promote restful sleep. Sacred decorations and sandstone art add a touch of spirituality to the ambiance.

The deck offers two lounge chairs and ample space for yoga sessions, all while staying pleasantly cool throughout the day, thanks to its shaded location. The Lotus Room is perfectly suited for a relaxing and rejuvenating stay.

ABOUT OUR PROPERTY:
Our buildings are ecologically built and adorned with spiritual art and hand-crafted masterpieces from Pacific and Asian countries. We are surrounded by a lush jungle, flower gardens, fruit trees, and an easily accessible waterfall that flows into natural pools for swimming, from which you can gaze upon the breathtaking view of the valley.

Our land is a beautiful place to wander and explore: you can take a short walk past our organic garden, agroforestry garden, chickens, and countless species of flowers and plants and enter our temples, where you can rest, relax, and meditate.
For the adventurer, our ocean trail is a moderately challenging cliff trail, and it takes about a half-hour to get down to the ocean. You will enjoy the wild beauty and the untouched nature of this piece of rural Maui, which dolphins and turtles occasionally visit. However, be prepared with a good pair of hiking shoes, snacks, and water bottles. Feel your feet—the trail can be very slippery after heavy rain. In the wintertime, whales can be spotted breaching from the viewpoints on this trail — even from your bed.

As we live off the grid in a sustainable and organic jungle, some friendly and harmless critters are a part of our lives. Occasionally, small geckos are seen in the house, and we remind guests of the importance of sealing up and putting away any uneaten food. If food is left out, ants will take it as an opportunity to make your leftovers a great feast. Also, Maui's tropical climate is conducive to moist air and mold. We are diligent in our cleanliness and strive to keep our spaces clean and insect-free, but as previously mentioned, we take good care of our land and live harmoniously in nature. We cater with 100% success to all our guests who want to experience nature and take time out from their busy lives to relax.

Exclusive Yoga classes, only for Maui Eco Retreat guests, are offered Monday through Friday mornings.

If you are considering eloping while staying with us or would like a micro wedding, we offer this exclusive, intimate ceremony specifically for those staying on our land. Kutira has been a licensed officiant for over 30 years, and her ceremonies are infused with the Hawaiian spirit. She and her husband create a union celebration according to your personal spiritual beliefs in this special ceremony.

ABOUT OUR LOCATION:
We are situated on the North Shore of Maui, where you can experience the most exquisite sunrise over the ocean! While you can experience off-grid living here, we are just 40 minutes northeast of Kahului airport and 30 minutes from Paia. This wonderful, iconic beach town is home to fantastic restaurants, boutiques, a health-food grocery store, internet cafés, a bank/ATM, a post office, and lovely sandy beaches where you can enjoy walks, picnics, sun, swimming, surfing, and turtle watching! Located at the beginning of “The Road to Hana,” we are the ideal starting point for this quintessential Maui sightseeing experience. We are in the heart of the island—true Hawaii—where you will receive a whole, authentic experience of local living free from the pressures of tourism.

Late Arrival: There is an additional $45 charge for late arrivals between 6pm - 10pm and $65 from 10pm to 11pm. We are a small family-owned business and have to hire an after hour guest-services person to welcome late-night arrivals and show you to your room or cottage. We prefer check-ins between 3pm and 6pm.
