The Owl’s Cove sits in a small valley just below Kruger Rock, with wide-open mountain views and quick access to adventure. It’s 10 minutes to downtown Estes Park, to the National Park, and to the Forest Service trail network off USFS 119—one of the locals' favorite hidden gems. From the deck, you’ll likely spot elk, deer, or wild turkeys wandering through, and if you’re lucky, you might even hear bugling at dusk.
This isn’t just a place to crash—it’s a place to connect. Sip your morning coffee as the sun lights up the peaks. Soak under a starry sky in the private hot tub. Put a record on, kick back by the fire, and let the outside world fade away.
Here are just a few of our favorite guest moments:
“... Woke up to elk bugling and fighting on the mountain behind the house. That’s a memory we’ll never forget.” – Whitney
“... This is now my all-time favorite homes. I’ll be back with more of my family.” – Katarina
“... Tons of magical deer and elk. My only regret is we couldn’t stay longer.” – Ellen
“... Our mini family stay was beyond expectations. One of the best by far in Estes Park!” – Valerie

Families love the downstairs playroom, with beanbags, board games, and a pullout sofa that makes a perfect kid hideout. Upstairs, the open-concept living area flows into a stocked kitchen and a dining table for 8. Our home is in a quiet neighborhood about a block off of Fish Creek Road, close to the base of Little Valley Road. We love our neighborhood because it offers amazing views and quick access to Estes Park's best attractions, without any traffic. We do have neighbors and we really ask that guests be mindful of them and not play music on our patio or in the hot tub. To be respectful of guests, we have outdoor quiet hours starting at 9:00. Normal conversations are fine but parties, gatherings, or loud conversations are not.
Our residential neighborhood is on the outskirts of the Estes Valley, but everything you would want to see or do is *super* close. Downtown, with its coffee shops, grocery store, and the Stanley Hotel, is 10 minutes. The nearest brewery is about 6 minutes. The National Park Entrance is 12 minutes. If you go up Little Valley Road, you can access the Roosevelt National Forest's hiking, biking and snowshoe trails in about 7 minutes. You will need a car to visit Estes.
NEIGHBORS & NOISE
We do have neighbors and it is super super important to respect their quiet and solitude. Parties and loud music that can disturb them is not allowed. We have decibel meters that alert us to gathering parties and disturbances (read up on Minut Noise Monitors -- they don't record anything but just track sound levels)
SMOKING AND FIRES
Smoking is not allowed on the property due to high fire danger. Sorry!
AIR CONDITIONER
Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C. Thankfully mountain air blows down from the high peaks and will cool down the place quickly in the evenings if you open the windows.
BEARS
Do NOT leave food in your car! Bears frequent this area and can break in!
MINUT
We use a Minut noise meter. It doesn't record audio, but instead monitors decibel levels, temperature and humidity. This is for the safety of guests & to protect the home. It also serves to warn us about parties & prevent noise complaints from neighbors. It's located on the cieling in the kitchen.
- No loud music or convos in the hot tub as we have neighbors!
- No pets, parties
- 4pm or later checkin; 10am check out
- Start load of towels and dishes prior to leaving
- There are decibel meters in the living room and patio. They do not record anything but they do monitor sound levels and alert us to gathering parties. You can read about them by searching Minut Noise Monitors
