The property has 5 levels and narrow stairs. We do not recommend staying if anyone has mobility constrains.
Damage to property will be charged to guests. The Shoe House is historic and we ask guests treat it with care. There is no dishwasher either. :)

Excellent stay, so unique! We loved the blending of original and retro style with updated amenities! Did not check out the hot tub because it was too cold, but game room/living area was a hit, beds were comfortable, and kitchen (although small) was well equipped.

Lovely, unique place. My biggest complaint is for the price I expected nicer bed linens and bath towels. They are old, not very clean and needs updating. Otherwise, we really enjoyed it.

ToeTal fun...unique house with fun themed items back to the future decor. We celebrated a 6th birthday at the picnic tables by the firepit and it was great! We visited many years ago when it was a museum ice cream shop...and so happy this special house became a rental destination to enjoy with or without grandkids...but more fun to see the kids faces ..who now know the old lady who lived in a shoe did know what to do. The kids were impressed.

What a charming and memorable stay to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. In the midst of snow, winds, and below zero temps, we stayed cozy just absorbing all the historic details and relics in the home— from the books, articles, to antique rotary phone and phonograph, there was plenty to take in. We cooked in and found all the supplies needed, then had a fantastic night of sleep in the well- appointed bedrooms.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this iconic landmark from my childhood. Highly recommend. The beds were comfortable plenty of blankets for the trundle, extra pillows well stocked with toilet paper and paper towels, and kitchen supplies. The temperature was easily controlled very private.

This property has a long history and love from the community. The Shoe House was built in 1949 by a Shoe Store Retailer. He was very generous and was always giving to the local community. The builder, Mahlon Haines would raffle off stays in the Shoe House to newlyweds and couples on their Anniversary. The Shoe House was donated to his employees before he died, and the legacy of giving to the community lives on is welcoming guests to the Shoe House!

Part of the Unique aspect of the Shoe is the legacy that is embodies. Hosting people to enjoy the fun and unique features of the Shoe House was why it was built in the 1950's. That long standing legacy makes the Shoe House unique among stays, as well as the many amazing and fun features the Shoe Shines with!
