Welcome to your family's private, log cabin retreat. This peaceful Deep Creek beauty is nestled in the woods, only 5 minutes to Wisp resort, and close to all DCL attractions!

Relax in the hot tub or lounge on the porch or hammock, sit around the fire pit and roast s'mores among the trees, deer and other intrigues of nature, creating lasting memories!

Enjoy family time by the fireplace, with arcade, foosball and board games or gather around the cozy well stocked kitchen for family meals.

Main floor features family room, dining area, well stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances, Keurig and coffee maker, King Master Bedroom with Jacuzzi tub, full bathroom and a half bathroom just before the stairway.

The upstairs lounge room is equipped with a fire place, 2 queen sofa sleepers, Pac-man arcade, foosball and HD smart TV for the entire group to enjoy.

The 2nd level has a Queen bedroom, and 2 twin over full double bunk beds and another full bathroom.

The chunky bear has a fully equipped patio with private hot tub, gas grill and outdoor dining, fire pit, hammock and bench overlooking the woods.

Your only surrounding sounds are the sounds of nature and that of your loved ones. The large backyard space is your oyster to enjoy with lots to do.

* Unwind in the bedroom jacuzzi or the private hot tub on the patio.
* Sip wine or coffee lounging on the patio.
* Enjoy meals cooked in our fully stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances

House was a perfect ski cozy vibe. Was the perfect getaway rental. The hot tub was definitely a crowd favorite. The driveway was a bit icy so definitely make sure your car is able to handle that but other than that it was wonderful. Host was very responsive.

Cozy and welcoming home on a beautiful, private property. The game room was a big hit with the kids and there was plenty of space for gathering and relaxing together. The host was very responsive, and kind.A heads up for winter stays—4-wheel drive is necessity. We had about 5 inches of snow while there, which is no problem for the right vehicles. We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

We had a terrific visit to the chunky bear! The cabin was true to the listing and the beds were very comfortable. The kids loved the bunk bed room. The host was responsive to messages. Fully equipped kitchen made it easy to cook there. We enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit. We'd for sure stay there again!

4th of July stay

Inside of property is immaculate and well kept. Very well stocked with anything we needed. Very close to marina for boat and close to restaurants and anything we needed. The private drive is a little rough but overall the property was great.

This was our first trip to Deep Creek Lake and we could not have found a better home for our family of four! This house is exactly how it was described and very, very clean. Loved the location! We were only a short drive to boat rentals, Wisp resort, restaurants, groceries and more. The kids loved the hot tub and fire pit for smores. Definitely recommend - 10 out of 10!

Relaxing and Cozy Stay!

This was the perfect cabin for a relaxing girls weekend away from home! It was exactly as described online, very clean, and had everything needed to the point that we didn't need to leave all weekend. The fire pit was lovely as well as the hot tub. The host was very good at responding to questions and was extremely helpful! I would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a quiet weekend away from home, and I hope to be back again!

Quiet Getaway

Property was great. Secluded but not too far from town. Hot tub and jacuzzi are wonderful amenities. Easy to find. Definitely need 4 wheel drive in snowy winter time. Host very responsive.

Great Night

Needed one night in June for 6 dads and this house was perfect. Old school DC feel. The entire house is wood lined. Good kitchen. Outstanding secluded fire pit space. Surrounded by trees at the end of a gravel road. Responsive host. Comfortable beds.

Good property but needs attention to detail

We enjoyed our stay, but our review is about 4-1/2 stars because of minor-but-annoying things: coffee machine did not work; some utensils were dirty; dishwasher soap and cleanser were empty; missing rings on shower curtain; some carpet was threadbare; some whirlpool jets did not work properly; etc. The location is remote and quiet as we wanted.

Great Presidents Weekend Vacay for 5 adult group!

The 'Chunky Bear' cabin was a great vacation getaway for our 5 person Presidents Weekend vacay. The cabin was great and location was peaceful, woodsy and super close to Wisp Resort. Kitchen was very well equipped with everything needed to cook for 3 days & the ice-maker in fridge was always full. Main floor was super comfy, 2nd floor game room with foosball & Pacman kept us entertained, and we "Loved" the warm radiant floors in kitchen & baths! Hot Tub was 100+ deg and so nice after a day on the slopes. The overnight snow fall of 6+ inches was quickly and quietly removed during the night by snowplow service giving us easy departures & returns to the cabin. Host communications were speedy & helpful especially when we decided to extend by an additional night. We highly recommend the Chunky Bear as a great vacay location !

Our cabin is cozy enough for everyone to feel connected in one space, yet private enough to enjoy your own space and rest in the private bedrooms. We love that it is an all log cabin with lots of character and warmth. Each of the bedrooms is unique with all wood walls and ceiling fan in every room. The backyard is spacious large with lots of possibilities. Our girls found their own hiking trail at the back. We invite you to find yours too. Be prepared to have lots of laughter and create great memories in the Chunky bear!
