From watching the sunrise over the hilltops to swimming in the cool, crisp waters of the Caddo River, this place really is a home away from home in a stunningly beautiful setting! The house is cozy and welcoming, with great views of the countryside from the living room window wall. This is a perfect place to getaway and embrace the peace and relaxation of Nature!
As city-dwellers, my girlfriend and I were pretty floored by this place. The natural scenery around the property is breathtaking and it's basically all yours from the moment you check in. Bridgett was very open, laid back and friendly. She gave us a full tour of the property and then allowed us total privacy.
The house itself is nestled into a forested hillside and looks out onto acres of pasture. You can easily walk to the river, or wander down any number of wooded nature trails, all of which are only accessible to you and the property owners. The house has all the conveniences you might need and there's plenty of extras.
Within about about a 15 min drive is Glenwood, where you can get groceries, gas and other supplies. In the opposite direction you have multiple nature areas, river access, and several options for gem hunting. There a probably lots of other fun activities, but we only stayed two nights.
We will absolutely come back, and I highly recommend this place to anyone vacationing in this area.
What a great place to stay. If you are looking for peace and quiet yet close to activities, this is it. I have stayed there several times. The owners are great and very accommodating. I love watching deer through the glass in living room. The swimming hole is great also.
Each time we stay at Buena Vista we realize that it is one of the best places that we have found among our many VRBO rentals. We love the privacy, the tranquil setting, the view from the dining/living room, the long walks on the ranch roads and trails without any traffic, the hills and the Caddo River. We go back each year in the Fall to savor all of these things and are thankful that we can visit such a wonderful place.
im so glad that I chose this property. very relaxing, fully functional. when bridget said "all you need is food", she was right. The property was in great shape, well maintained, as well as the 300 acres. there is a grocery not to far away from the property, but everything was there. Laundry Det, dish soap, garbage bags, paper towels, towels for kids/pets for the creek, linens,.. we felt so at home and so comfortable here. It was great. Been going through some personal issues, and this was a trip that just my teenage daughters and I took and it was EXACTLY what we (I) needed. there is a little fishing hole on the property with catfish and bass, there is also a creek that zig zags through the property, which was beautiful. the water was crystal clear. there is also a private swimming hole on the property, that is beautiful and crystal clear. I believe this is the Caddo River, so you will see people tubing and canoeing/kayaking. you can rent canoes or tubes just up or down ?? the road, less than a couple miles. Bridgette & Marty were very accommodating and helpful. There is some historical history relating to the property, regarding Indians. If you are looking for a quite, peaceful, relaxing get a away,. I PROMISE you will not be disappointed. there are at least 4-5 trails on the property to walk and explore. Hot Springs is about 25 mins away, the Diamond Mine in Murfreesboro is also about 20 mins away. We will be coming back. The view from the living room was very nice. and the STARS are BEAUTIFUL at night. everynight I would take the lawn chair and put in in the middle of the driveway or on the grass and just lay out there for a couple hours! Very relaxing, very comfortable.. Exactly what I needed to clear my head, and re-group! CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK.. IF I WAS CLOSER, I WOULD BE THERE EVERY WEEKEND! I tried to find a job while I was down there! lol.. also have some great flea markets. it is a DRY COUNTY.
Relax and enjoy the beautiful view of mountains cattle and sip coffee or sleep half the day in super comfy beds. Private swimming hole was awesome and very clear. We took our kayaks and paddled up stream to the rope swing and played in the water all afternoon. She also had tubes and float toys by the swimming hole for us to use. Bridgett & Marty were super gave us a tour of the farm. Cottage is very comfy roomy and fully stocked and super pet friendly! She had towels for the river & dogs! Only thing we needed was more time! Weekend flew by! Planning on returning with our family very soon! This is the perfect place for race fans plenty of room to park trailers and just few minuets from the track. best kept secret in caddo gap!
