Great neighborhood! Family owned and loved for 3 generations. This is a new Dubuque listing in 2022 but I am a Premier Host with 7+ years of an excellent hosting track record on VRBO/HomeAway. Gain confidence in my attention to detail and customer service by viewing my reviews of my other property #4965021 in Phelps, WI.

This cute, brick, one story 1940's home was fully remodeled in 2022 with a fun modern vibe. The entire home is one level which is perfect for families with younger children or individuals who enjoy a nice place without steps to navigate. Why pay for 2 or 3 cramped, cookie-cutter hotel rooms with uncomfortable sleeping arrangements when you can spread your family out in 3 bedrooms and get a good night's sleep for less money? Our cozy home is located in a nice, safe, centrally located area of Dubuque very close to Flora Park, Bunker Hill Golf Course and the relaxing Body & Soul Day Spa. We are 1/2 a mile from Clarke University, less than a mile to University of Dubuque and 1.5 miles from Loras College. Emmaus Bible College is 1 block away. Bunker Hill Golf Course (public course) is 4 blocks away and you can walk just a few blocks to one of Dubuque's biggest and best parks. Flora Park has several fun kids play areas, a wonderful community swimming pool and several tennis courts. Hillcrest Park is also just a few blocks down the street in the other direction. Our home also has a large, newly fenced (June 2023) flat back yard that is great for kicking a soccer ball around or playing frisbee. Dogs love it! New patio area added June 2023. Home has convenient off street driveway parking for 2 vehicles. No steps to navigate to the entrance.

Cheryl was a phenomenal host - was super responsive and sent us tips and reminders but was not overbearing. The home has Dubuque vintage charm but was cozy, warm, and well kept. The fenced in space for our dogs was so nice and they enjoyed fetch and running around after a long day in the car!

We stayed for a few nights while traveling to South Dakota. The house was perfect. Everything that you could need was provided. The furnishings from the living room to the beds were very comfortable. The fenced in back yard was perfect for out four legged pups. Location was prefect for visiting local activities, shopping and quiet evenings while sitting in the back yard. Chery was absolutely amazing - very welcoming, communications exceeded all expectations. All information for check in / check out was shared well in advance in the event of any questions. We had a wonderful stay at Cheryl’s house in Dubuque. The home is very comfortable with everything we needed. Beds are comfortable (the bed in the master is huge!). The dog loved the very large fenced yard. Cheryl was very helpful and communicative and had some great suggestions of restaurants in the area.

Wonderful weekend stay

We really enjoyed our stay in the modern, cottage-style property. No stairs and the fenced backyard were great perks for our young family as well as our senior-aged dog. Lovely, Comfortable, Clean, Well-Equipped and Quiet

I stayed here on a business trip to one of the Dubuque universities. It was in a perfect location - close to the universities in a nice nearby neighborhood. The updated brick ranch home was very tastefully and comfortably furnished with everything I needed - well-equipped kitchen, fast wi-fi, very comfortable bed and furniture. Extra touches like nightlights, an electric fireplace, cozy sheets and bedding made it a perfect place to stay. It was very clean and everything was in great working order. The host was very responsive, helpful, and thoughtful. The self check-in and check-out was easy and quick. My only regret is that my family didn’t join me as there was plenty of room inside and a huge fenced backyard with chairs to enjoy the outdoors. Definitely one of the nicest small homes I have stayed at in Dubuque. Added bonus is that it is accessible with no steps. I hope it will be available for my next visit!

Great place if traveling with a pet

This place was wonderful with only one exception (see below). The fenced yard was huge and our dog loved it. The place is in a great location and very quiet neighborhood. The only negative is it didn't have central air and the window air conditioner was very loud. We left it on when we were out to cool the place as it was too loud to watch TV or chat with it on. It was in the high 80's-90's when we were they so it was definitely needed. Otherwise a great place and great owner.

Great little getaway

Stayed at this house with 2 friends while competing in dragon boat races on the Mississippi. It’s pet friendly and has a nice fenced yard with a great sitting area. You can tell this has been newly updated and while compact, the three bedrooms gave us privacy. The living area was comfortable and I was impressed with the amount of games that were provided. Best of all was the host’s responsiveness to questions. Very good communication and a delight to work with.

I was born in Dubuque and have 50+ years of advice on great things to do in Dubuque. I am happy to help answer any question you may have.

This property was my grandparents in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. After they passed away my parents rented the home as an annual rental for 20 years. They decided to retire from the landlord business in 2022 and I decided to purchase the home from them then. My husband, kids and I always rent homes on VRBO when we travel because we love the ability to spread out into multiple bedrooms for a better night's sleep. We also love how renting a whole VRBO home is better and more convenient than renting multiple hotel rooms. We are so glad that vacation home rentals are plentiful these days. They make traveling so much more enjoyable.

We completely gutted this house in 2022 and have all new flooring, a completely new kitchen and bath, fresh paint and 100% new furniture and bedding. Come check it out!
