We just recently returned from a wonderful long weekend at this cabin. Karen is an amazing host and you can truly just bring a bag and enjoy the weekend. She included so many items to make this an easy and comforting stay. We were in town for the Bristol race weekend and the cabin is a short 40 minute trip to the track. It is also very close to the lake and numerous outdoor activities! We can't wait to come back and have another stay.
What a lovely weekend in this Tennessee mountain cabin. We so enjoyed out time in this compact yet spacious home. There was plenty of room to spread out in the comfortable downstairs area. The kitchen was well equipped with a table that seats six comfortably. There were books, games and dvds available and plenty of seating in the living area. Everything was clean and the owners were very gracious and helpful. They anticipated many of the needs we might have had. We enjoyed visiting with Karen and found her more than willing to answer our questions about the area and suggest things to do. If you want a place to getaway from the hustle and enjoy some quiet this is it. The hike to nearby Laurel Falls was well worth the hour plus it took to get there.
Love the fact that this cabin was built by the Visser family with love and attention to detail.
We felt very comfortable with the furniture and beds. Fishing in Doe creek was fun catching trout. Local Watauga lake is beautiful and worth renting boats out of the marina. The Butler Museum is a must if you enjoy the rich history of an American city tucked away in the mountains.
Karen Visser went above and beyond through communication and help answering my questions.
Games on site included volley ball net, croquet, corn hole, board games and puzzles and lots of family movies. If you like to read there are scores of books to choose from.
Tv and cable worked great with DVD players too. Full kitchen with all essentials for cooking and clean Frig ready for making meals.
Best part was the fire pit and dry wood which we enjoyed every evening, roasting marshmallows and talking.
We arrived at the cabin on a cool foggy evening and immediately built a fire in the outdoor fire pit, which we enjoyed for hours. Everything we needed for our bonfire and the charcoal grill were provided. We were very pleased that pets were not only allowed(at no additional cost) but there is also a chain link kennel behind the cabin if you need it. This cozy cabin tucked into the base of a mountain is the perfect place to unplug and get back to nature. The kitchen includes plenty of pots, pans, and dishes for cooking and serving your meals. Sitting on the porch in the morning we enjoyed delicious cups of the coffee provided at the cabin. The gracious owners are located right down road and respond immediately to any questions or concerns.
The Country Cordwood cabin is much more beautiful than the pictures and the location in the mountains is perfect. Easy access of the scenic mountains and lakes of the area. The owners had everything to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. My wife and I truly enjoyed the peace and serenity surrounding the cabin. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to a return stay.
Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with us. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation and enjoyed many things in the area. The drive to Bristol, Boone and Blowing Rock was very easy and scenic. The cabin was very cozy, clean and nicely decorated. Thank you for providing a Christmas tree for us to decorate as well as all of the other Christmas decorations. We loved the area and our stay. My husband found the fishing to be very good and hopes to return to do some more. Thank you again for everything. Awesome place.
