The place is a beautiful historic house with large rooms, high ceilings and a lot of character. Anyone looking for the feel of a new condo or high end hotel might find the house too funky, but we loved it. A bonus if you have little kids was a well appointed play room.

The home was beautiful & clean. The 2 refrigerators was a bonus since we were in town for a wedding & had lots of reception food to store. It’s in a great area & we felt safe to walk both day & night. Very convenient to Pickett Place!

Loved the house and the location. A few things could have been better such as; no dish soap in the kitchen, lighting in the bedrooms, furnishings in the bedrooms would have been nice, there was nothing to put your stuff on other than the floor. Landscaping was in need of some TLC. It appeared that the place was more geared to younger folks that may not care about this but we were a group of 60 . Not sure what the deal was with all the picture hooks with no pictures? so I guess I am saying, esthetically speaking, it could have been better. Other than that, we absolutely loved it! I would recommend this place for sure!

Great stay in a beautiful town

I grew up in Florence and was looking for a place to meet up with some friends for a trip in our hometown. This home is beautiful and in a perfect location in downtown Florence.

We loved the play room, yard, and the library. The bathrooms were also great for us with a 1 and 2 year old. It was so nice to stay here with my family. Communication was prompt and easy with the host, thank you!It was clean, but since we have toddlers it was easy for us to see more on the ground than others would, so it could use deeper cleaning as there were food items in the couch in the library and on the floors - like stepped on on the floors so they were stuck on the floor on the main level.

Great location!

We had a great stay at the purple house! It’s within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and Leo the Lion on the UNA campus. The home itself is very spacious! The owners are super quick to respond.

Thanksgiving Year Two

We stayed at the Purple House last year for Thanksgiving and enjoyed it just as much this year. The house has such great character with plenty of space for everyone to gather. We love it and plan to come again next year. Thank you!!

We visit family twice a year in Florence. My mother in law is now in a nursing home near by this property and we loved the convenience! Will definitely rent this house in the spring ! —- Mahalo !!!

Beautiful home, great hosts

We had an amazing time at the purple house. The rooms are spacious and the front porch is welcoming. We spent many days on the porch people watching, visiting with family, playing with a neighborhood cat, listening to the UNA lion, and just watching the world go by. The hosts are incredibly responsive and kind and let us know about local events while we were there.

Florence Landmark. Family Stay

Very historic part of North Alabama. Enjoyed our week stay in the Purple Mansion. Well supplied and very comfortable bedding. We were a little cold but had some space heaters to help knock off the chill. Overall a very comfortable and rare experience to stay in a historic home. The owners are very happy to help and answer questions

Excellent location / safe neighborhood

This beautiful old home was very nice. The neighborhood seems like a safe place and we enjoyed several nighttime walks across the UNA campus and neighborhood. Only a half mile from Court Street where you can find any kind of food a person could want. The host provided quick answers to my questions. I would recommend staying here.

Charming home

We loved our stay in the Purple House. The location was perfect for our needs. Located right across from UNA’s campus. The house accommodated our family for our daughter’s wedding weekend. The home was full of character and charm and was very clean. We had a minor problem with the a/c and the host responded quickly and the issue was resolved.

Best Thanksgiving Ever!!

I grew up in Florence, and I had always wanted to stay in one of the historic houses located very close to UNA. The Purple House provided a place big enough for my entire family to gather for the holiday for the first time in two years. We had a wonderful time! The house was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Thank you!!
