Our family is native to Bar Harbor and is well known to local communities and surrounding islands. I am “on deck” for tips before you come, while here, and even after you leave! Guest access to owner can be incredibly valuable when deciding what to do, where to go, and make the most of your time here. My friend, Dan, is a professional musician who performs solo and with his band at popular local venues. I love being a host because it lets me share a place I care about with people who are excited to experience it. There is something genuinely rewarding about helping guests create memories - family vacations, reunions, anniversaries, and first trips to Acadia! Welcoming people, offering local tips, and hearing what they loved most about their stay brings joy. Hosting isn’t just about providing a house. It is about creating a peaceful, comfortable, thoughtful space where loved ones can enjoy being together. Welcoming guests helps keep me connected to my community and local happenings. I get to support local businesses, highlight the best of Bar Harbor, and share the pride I feel for Acadia. Every guest who leaves happy reminds me why I do it. Dan retired from Mount Desert Island Hospital as a Clinical Social Worker and supervisor. I am a proud Nurse of 45 years and caring for others comes naturally. Most of my career was spent at The Jackson Laboratory before I later developed a small consulting business, Smart Case Management Solutions, LLC. My clinical background includes Occupational Health Case Management related to Workers’ Compensation and disability.

Bar Harbor House sits right on the edge of downtown, making it an easy 10‑minute walk to the village for shopping, dining, and waterfront strolls. The Acadia National Park entrance to Cadillac Mountain is just around the corner. Guests can be on the Carriage Roads, trails, or headed up the summit road in minutes. Eagle Lake Road truly lives up to its name. It is not unusual to spot bald eagles or peregrine falcons soaring overhead or nesting nearby. The back field is a natural crossing for deer, turkeys, and other wildlife casually wander through. Duck Brook and Witch Hole abut the property behind the house. Just across the street is Kebo Valley Golf Course, the 8th oldest golf course in the United States. Set within a welcoming, multigenerational neighborhood of local families, our home offers an authentic Bar Harbor feel and a comforting sense of community.

Bar Harbor House is ideally located, just a 10‑minute walk to the village and only a half‑mile drive to the Cadillac Mountain entrance of Acadia National Park. You can stroll into town without worrying about parking or be in Acadia within minutes. I am available from the time you book through your entire stay. As a native island family, we are deeply connected to this community and happy to help you discover the best experiences, often the ones that save you time, money, and stress. Our house is fully stocked with everything you might need. There is no need to shop for groceries on your way, you will have plenty of starter essentials and even a meal waiting for you. We also offer a well‑organized brochure wall filled with maps, local information, and up‑to‑date island activities. You can skip the crowds at the Acadia Visitor Center and head straight into enjoying your day. What makes our home truly special is this... people arrive as guests and leave as new friends.
