Cozy, mountain escape w/ hot tub, fireplace, mountain view

The Woodland House is our newly renovated, stylishly rustic 2-bedroom, 1.5 bath home located in the Mon Forest town of Franklin, West Virginia. Enjoy the comforts and luxuries of home while enjoying the fresh air and forests of a trip to the mountains. You'll also have easy access to our small-town amenities while still being a short drive from some of West Virginia's best fishing and hiking destinations. You can also just stay in and enjoy the mountain view without ever leaving the back porch.

The space
Our newly renovated home is located in Franklin, WV near West Virginia's Monongahela National Forest in a quiet, residential area surrounded by woods with a lovely view of the nearby mountains and a glimpse of the South Branch of the Potomac River. The surrounding woods provide privacy from neighbors. The wooded, gravel drive (including one, steep hill approaching the house and one hill to the upper parking) puts you at just the right elevation to provide the amazing, tree top view from the back porch.

The 2 bedroom, 1.5 home is perfect for 4 people, but has room for 6. Both bedrooms include comfy, pillow top queen beds and an additional fold up queen sized foam mattress can used on the living room floor if desired. Additional sheets, pillows and blanket are provided for use with the floor mattress.

The living room has a cozy, propane fireplace and is furnished with a 55" Fire Television for enjoying access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+.

The kitchen is equipped with all your basic appliances including a microwave and dishwasher and comes fully stocked with cookware, utensils, plates, etc. You'll find most of your basic kitchen necessities like paper towels, dish detergent, trash bags, are included as well.

The dining area has seating for 6.

The full and half bath are both available for use by all guests off the main hallway. Towels, soap, shampoo, toilet paper and hair dryer are provided for your visit.

Both bedrooms have 32" Roku televisions for use.

There is a washer and dryer available for use in the laundry closet in the main hallway. You'll have access to an iron and ironing board if needed as well.

The back porch area has both a dining set and furniture for enjoying the mountain view. The lower patio also has rocking chairs and a fire pit area with seating for more outdoor enjoyment. Firewood is provided for making a fire in the Solostove.

On the lower patio area, there is a 3-person hot tub positioned perfectly to enjoy the same lovely view as offered from the upper deck.

There is very little cell phone coverage available, but Wi-Fi is provided for guests.

The unfinished basement is accessible to provide walk through access to the lower patio, hot tub, and fire pit area if desired. The lower outdoor patio areas can also be reached by the patio stairs as well.

Parking is available near the entry door for the upper, main floor and extra parking space is available on the lower level as well.

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire home. This includes the main floor, unfinished basement, upper and lower back patio, yard area, surrounding 3-acre wooded area.

Other things to note
If snow is in the forecast, driving conditions in the area could be an issue and 4-wheel drive vehicles may be preferred.
