Tucked high in the Smoky Mountains, you and your loved ones will have access to everything Southern Appalachia has to offer, including the most exceptional view of Nantahala Lake you’ll ever see.

Grandview is a wonderful and traditional vacation rental home. Our guests love disconnecting, relaxing with family, and soaking-up the serene view of the Nantahala lake and forest.

BRING THE FAMILY
With 8 beds—including 2 queen beds, and 6 twin beds—Grandview is the perfect place to host your next family reunion or group gathering!

4WD/AWD IS REQUIRED
Our driveway is long, steep, and un-paved. We require that you bring 4WD/AWD vehicles to make it up and down the mountain safely. If you ignore this rule, you will be liable for any damages to the driveway.

3 VEHICLE MAXIMUM—NO TRAILERS
We ask that you do not bring more than 3 vehicles. We also do not allow motorcycle/ATV/boat trailers, due to limited parking and no turnaround.

STARLINK WIFI
We recently installed wonderful Starlink Residential WIFI. It is fast, reliable, unlimited, and works well in all weather conditions. Use it to stream TV, scroll social media, check emails, and make phone calls!

RING DOORBELL
We have a Ring Doorbell installed outside the house, on the porch that faces the driveway. This device allows us to remotely monitor any movement coming or going from the property. It does not view or record any areas where guests have a reasonable expectation of privacy.

THINGS TO DO
There are countless activities within walking or driving distance — everything from white water rafting, to riding the Tail of the Dragon.

Hiking enthusiasts can explore sections of both the Appalachian Trail and the Bartram Trail.

If you enjoy fishing, the Nantahala river has world-class fly fishing—rated as one of the top Trout fishing rivers in America.

With such little light pollution in the mountains, you’ll be able to sit on our patio, watch the sunset, and marvel at how many stars you can see.

If you’re into collecting treasures, Decker’s Flea Market is just a short drive down US-74, along with countless antique stores.

This home was absolutely beautiful and fully stocked with everything you could need while staying there! We loved our time there! The owners were very responsible when messaging them and really nice! We hope to come back again sometime!

Caving trip for a mixed group of indoorsy and outdoorsy friends

Despite the lack of ratings on VRBO, the location and view are actually as amazing as they appear in the posting. The cabin provided a perfect way to host our group of 6 as a base of operations for say hikes, rafting and board games for an "off the grid (no wifi / streaming services or video games)" long weekend of face to face fun. When planning the trip I did not read the initial posting as well as Ishould have and was initially scared by the way they mention liability for the driveway if you don't have 4 wheel drive because even though my group had vehicles that met the requirements we had zero off road experience, when I saw the guest handbook. After talking this over with the host they offered us an alternative parking place that they usually do not make available to guests in the event that our group didn't feel comfortable on the approach. This ended up being a life saver because the night before the trip my 4runner broke a CV axle and one of the group members who was supposed to drive dropped out - so we only had one awd drive vehicle between us (when we expect to have 3), and after a single trip up the driveway with the awd vehicle we had, decided it was better to leave them all below and make the hike. This was unexpected, but by no means an unpleasant experience since all our gear was in backpacks qnd the driveway was a beautiful hike in its own right with lots of blooming mountain Laurel and great views. Hosts were fantastic, would recommend with 4wd.
