Relax with the family at this peaceful retreat and spectacular view of the Potomac River at the Northern Neck. Unwind and enjoy the river view from the backyard. The house is located in the enclave of the Potomac River. This vacation home features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a TV with basic channels, free WIFI, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a patio with river views, and a 50 ft dock for your fishing, crabbing, or just enjoying the sunrise and sunset. This also made a perfect romantic getaway spot for two.

The water and drainage was an issue. the water had the order of rust and the sinks had a gaseous order as though they were partially blocked and had been that way for a long time. I had to get plumbing work in my house for the same problem. Paid for four nights only used it two because of the problem. If those problems were fixed, I would rent it again. Great location.

First off, the location absolutely cannot be beat. It was lovely. Wi-fi was good, check-in was seamless. I do think this property is better suited to smaller parties, though. The river view from the master bedroom is accurate, but doesn't mention that your view is going directly through another's sleeping area. There is essentially no privacy to be had.There were water pressure issues on the showerhead in the main bathroom, and in the sink in the secondary bathroom. The layout is a little odd, but you can work around it - again, prime location. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, but no cookie sheets, so bring your own if you need. The host is extremely responsive and friendly. They answered all of our questions quickly. Basically, think of this more of a cabin (which it is listed as a cottage, so that definitely makes sense) than a home and I think that will temper your expectations some. The view was spectacular and we spent so much of it outside anyway. Loved the solar light on the dock and the patio. It was a lovely stay.

The house is decent. Small old house. Beautiful area. Nice neighborhood. Just not what we were expecting or wanted. No access to the water. The house was very under kept. The water in the shower/sink smells like sulfar. Beds are very hard and not comfortable. Just under whelming for the price.

The place is a little outdated but very charming...the only reason I say outdated is because we could not use the shower in the main bathroom, there was no water pressure, just a dribble. Other than that, I would stay there again.

Nice out of the way place

This is a nice little cottage, tucked away from everything right on the river. I was looking for some peace and quiet, and that’s exactly what I got. Even though the weather wasn’t great, the sunroom still let me enjoy the views.

Fantastic views

Host was amazing! My MIL lost her wedding rings! They turned up after next renters who put them on dining room table --thank you honest people!! Host drove 3 hrs each way to retrieve them for us and wouldn't take a reward. We had talked about renting again even before this amazing experience

Nice but dated

Property was nice, grounds were excellent. Property manager was extremely responsive, she bent over backwards to ensure that we were satisfied. (Even gave us fishing and crabbing tips) Just one thing, everything worked but was old. Needs new appliances and a rug. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay very much 😀

Amazing View

And again for the 2nd time..... the waterfront view never cease to amaze us.. The house is decent and just perfect for my family. One of the reason I love this place is that I have to spend more quality time with my family away from our busy schedules. Sitting in the deck, watching sunset while my husband & kids waiting patiently to catch fish & carbs is priceless. Ms. KC is very friendly and very responsive. She answered my messages very quickly and accomodate all my needs & requests. Definitely, we're coming back again to relax & make more good memories with my loveones.

Nice quiet stay

We had a nice relaxing time. My husband fished off the dock. I sat and read my books. The area was quiet and peaceful. The view was gorgeous. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. If you’re looking for somewhere with tons to do in the area… this isn’t that. We did find a National park nearby for swimming and boating and hiking but there are few restaurants and the closest Walmart was 40 minutes away. But that’s exactly what we were looking for, so it was perfect.

Riverfront relaxation

We had a wonderful stay. The house was just as described, a cozy cottage perfect for relaxing with beautiful riverfront views. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, the living room and main bedroom we used were comfortable, and the sun porch had great views where you could relax in the AC. The patio had a great dining table/umbrella, and the dock was perfect for fishing. Thank you for a lovely getaway cottage!

Retreat

We were in the area for a family wedding so spent most of our time away from the cottage. It provided a welcome morning and evening retreat, sun (or even clouds) over the water. We could have enjoyed many hours sitting in the "sun room" if we hadn't been pulled away to other activities. It was all lovely and easy. Suggest owners install a grab bar for the tub/shower. That tile step is dangerous, especially when wet.
