The listing had a mistake, and we immediately acknowledged it when you reached out, offering a refund for one night to help compensate for the inconvenience. We regret if the amount offered didn’t feel sufficient. Regarding the other issues you mentioned: Hot Water: Our property manager checked the water heater immediately when you informed us, and it was functioning correctly. It appears that someone had lowered the temperature settings, but we apologize for the discomfort you experienced before it was addressed. Mugs: We appreciate your feedback, and while we aim to provide everything guests might need, it’s unfortunate that we missed the mugs before your arrival. We were happy to provide them promptly when you brought it to our attention. Parking and Door Lock: I apologize for any confusion regarding the private parking padlock and the door lock system. The private parking padlock was put in place due to the neighbors on the left and right of us were preparing to repair their fencing that had fallen into the alleyway. This alleyway needed to be cleared giving proper access to the back parking area. While we believe it was unsafe for guests to access while their work was being performed and had locked the backyard gate. I would like to apologize for not properly communicating that the back private parking was not accessible during your stay. We’ve addressed these concerns with our property manager to prevent similar issues in the future. Leaving the door unlocked after checking the water was an oversight on our part, and we will ensure it doesn’t happen again. After your stay, I personally spent a week at the property to experience it as a guest and make improvements where needed. I’ve relandscaped the backyard to include a horseshoe pit, corn hole, a BBQ area, and a picnic table with a new back deck, along with new plants and trees. These updates have been made to enhance the overall guest experience. We truly strive to provide a seamless experience for all of our guests and appreciate your feedback as an opportunity to improve. As I mentioned during your stay, the dog was on an invisible fence and has never exhibited aggressive behavior. However, I completely understand that every person’s comfort level is different, and I offered guidance on how to address the situation by reaching out to the appropriate authorities if needed. Since your stay, the neighbor has moved, and the dog is no longer next door. Concerning the cleanliness of the property, I take this feedback seriously. Our cleaning and maintenance teams thoroughly prepare the house for each guest, and I did offer to send them back to address any concerns you had. I regret that this did not meet your expectations, and I appreciate your understanding when we discussed this during your stay. I’m also sorry to hear about your concerns with the trash situation. Unfortunately, there was a storm that had impacted the trash cans, but we did send the maintenance team over promptly to remedy this, as well as offer additional trash services during your stay. I understand your frustration regarding the refund. Given the length of the booking and the specific terms of the reservation, I was unable to offer a full refund but tried to accommodate your requests in other ways. We aim to ensure all our guests feel comfortable, and I’m sorry that your stay didn’t reflect that.
