Just a short drive from St Louis to Bourbon Missouri and you can get away from it all. Located on 40 acres you can enjoy a peaceful property overlooking open meadows, running creek, wildlife and your own spring fed lake. Blue Springs Ranch is close by where you can swim, canoe, horseback ride and enjoy other activities. In Bourbon you will find a coffee shop, restaurants , health food store, bicycle shop, grocery store, and ice-cream parlor and other small town stores. The chateau has a large covered porch where you can view wildlife, watch geese sit on the porch swing or hang out around the fire pit on a cool evening. Take a hike, feed the fish or just relax. We enjoyed the fantastic getaway, the name speaks for itself. “The Hidden Gem”, an exquisite retreat that perfectly showcases the stunning natural beauty of Missouri. Our nights were enriched by the serene sounds of nature and a sky ablaze with stars. During the day, we enjoyed the lush greenery and peaceful pond.

Dreamy Set-up!

This property is amazing!! It is not just decorated beautifully, but all the little details have been thought out. You can cook or bake virtually anything you want with everything provided in the kitchen. Then take that to multiple eating areas outside with fans to keep you cool & the bugs away. Afterwards relax on the supersized swing with a view that belongs on a desktop background. This place was so wonderful we referred a friend before we had left.

Amazing!! This place really is a Hidden Gem. We rented it for a Father’s Day float and it was absolutely perfect!! The house itself was beautifully decorated with anything you could need or want! The host left fresh spring water in the fridge for us and delicious muffins. The porch, the view…so beautiful and peaceful, overlooking a fishing pond where you can feed the fish or catch and release. We saw deer and turkey. I really didn’t want to leave the porch swing. We were less than 2 miles from Blue Springs Ranch where we floated. Beds are comfy. Upstairs had a split unit to keep the upstairs bedroom heated or cooled. Everything was absolutely perfect…10/10 recommend!!!

Fantastic Getaway

A beautiful property with gorgeous views. The fishing was great and the lake has a large deck for easy fishing. House was very nicely decorated and outside porches were comfortable. Loved the swing and the fireplace- we had a wonderful relaxing time. Will definitely be back!

Hideaway Haven!

Wonderful property to get away & relax. The pictures don’t do it justice. Boundless amenities-very clean-and decorated like it should be in a magazine! Awesome place!

The whole property was wonderful and immaculatly cared for! Beds were very comfy and clean and the kitchen was great for cooking. We loved the large open field and pond and outdoor space. If we could add one thing, it would be to have a circular outdoor fire pit somewhere as the beautiful outdoor stone fireplace was slightly difficult to huddle around in the colder weather. Overall everyone loved the place and would stay again in a heartbeat!

The Perfect Getaway!

My husband and I stayed here in October. The property is gorgeous!! We fell in love with the natural beauty of the land and pond. The house looks even better than the photos. Perfect weekend getaway

I was searching for a place for an anniversary weekend away and happened across this little gem. The photos accurately portrayed the property. The host was responsive and helpful in answering my questions. We spent the weekend in perfect solitude..just the 2 of us. It was so relaxing. I almost hate to say how great it is cause i don't wanna share! We have definitely found our "regular" getaway destination. P.s. incase you haven't read my note in the guestbook, the shelf with the mugs hanging below is not level. It looks like it could fall any minute. We used the mugs in cabinet because I was afraid to touch the hanging mugs.

Beautiful home

We really enjoyed our stay catching up with our friends that now live several states away. The house was clean, welcoming and comfortable which was perfect for us to relax and talk with our friends. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to navigate. I would definitely recommend staying at this house if you are looking for a quiet, secluded place that is still close to stores, restaurants and other things to do. The outdoor amenities were an excellent option for socializing and taking in the view and wildlife. Very happy with our stay and are heading home refreshed.

Dreaming of our return

The pictures of this home do not do it justice...it is much, much better, and it far exceeded our expectations! These were some of our favorite things: * Sitting on the porch looking out at the pond. * Reading a book and drinking coffee on the cozy swing. * Building a fire in the outdoor fireplace and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows while looking up at the stars. * Walking down to the pond and watching the fish and turtles; we appreciated the bucket of fish food provided by the hosts. * The large walk-in shower with the amazing shower heads, one being a hand-held option. * The gas fireplace inside was very relaxing. * The jug of natural spring water in the refrigerator was refreshing. If we have to list something that could be improved... * We could not find any tissues * We could not get the fire pit table to light. There are so many more things that we enjoyed about this property, and we fully intend on booking it again! Also - thank you for the delicious muffins!
